Everyone

Time: 2027

Ariel was bored. She looked down at her food, having stuffed herself with it, but was now just staring at what she had left. A sandwich, and a duck's breast and some potatoes drenched in pepper sauce. She sighed and looked around. Hunter was sitting nearby. Ariel debated whether or not to shout out to him to talk to him or something. She was so BORED! But she decided not to, because just then, her fork had slipped and a speck of pepper sauce hit her just below her eye.

A most wicked smile appeared on the otherwise innocent face. Ariel had a plan. Oh yes, she had a plan. She almost laughed out loud in a cruel "moahahaha" way, but managed to simply keep it in her head. She could tell that the people who saw her smile frowned slightly and some even looked a bit creeped out. She shook her head and her face fell into that innocent one again. Oh, how she played on her innocent face.

Under the table, Ariel drew her wand out. She knew one spell that would really work. She pointed the wand at her saucy potatoes and whispered: "Wingardium Leviosa" She saw the potatoes slowly make their way to the Hufflepuff table, and then fell down on the head of on of the students with a particularly nasty 'splash'. Ariel had to force herself to keep her face normal. She was glad to see that no one had noticed her casting the spell or seen the potatoes flying. The Hufflepuff rose quickly and exclaimed something. Probably blaming it on the comrade sitting next to the victim. And then Ariel chose her moment. She grabbed a piece of nasty mashed potatoes, drenched them with pumpkinjuice and jumped up.

"FOOD FIGHT!" she shouted over the entire hall and threw the mashed potatoes everywhere.

Wow. Dinner was really boring today. Really boring. Hunter wasn't sure why. It just was. For some reason, nobody was really talking. Just eating. Which was fine, but Hunter was just about done with his food. That meant that it was time to go back up to the Gryffindor common room and do more boring things like homework and sleep. Which was no fun. He leaned back a bit and glanced around, but looked on curiously when his eyes skimmed over Ariel. The first year girl looked like she just thought of something particularly funny... or something. He raised an eyebrow as, in a split second, the smile was wiped from her face and replaced by an innocent look. Too innocent. What was she up to?

He didn't want to look like a creep by staring at her - as if he didn't stare at the Wilde sisters enough as it was, them being Veelas and all. A few moments after he looked away, however, his attention was drawn toward the Hufflepuff table where someone was shouting and - and covered with potatoes? Hunter stifled a laugh at the sight, but surely didn't expect what happened next. Catching him completely off guard, Ariel jumped up from the table, shouted food fight and threw mashed potatoes everywhere. She had started it of course, not that random Hufflepuff. But she was good, that's for sure. Hunter tried to take cover with his arms, but was too late. The soaked potatoes splattered all over his head and his robes.

Maybe everyone else who'd gotten hit would be angry, but they obviously didn't know how to have fun. Hunter personally found the entire situation rather exciting! A food fight was much better than sitting in the common room doing nothing. So, naturally, he grinned and didn't hesitate to follow suit. "You'll pay for that," he called to Ariel, laughing. He snatched a few tomatoes from a bowl on the table, squashed one in his hands, and flung a few back in Ariel's direction.

Then, deciding that a food fight was more fun if it involved a bunch of people - not to mention it would be awesome if he could hit Jen in the back of the head - he began flinging tomatoes toward the Slytherin table. One of them looked like it was headed straight for Lucy Malfoy, not Jen... well, maybe Lucy liked food fights! Hunter hoped so, though Lucy didn't seem mean enough to Jinx him for hitting her in the head with a tomato. Wanting to use a variety of ammo, he snatched a large bowl of salad and dressing for future use.

Aoife was quite late to the Great Hall, so there were only a few seats left at the table. She took the first one she saw, next to an older girl who she had never interacted with. There was no point trying to make conversation. She was tired and too hungry and lazy.

It seemed nobody else was talking much either. Something interesting needed to happen, but it wasn't yet the day to go around giving everyone hugs. Aoife was planning on doing that fairly soon, though, because everyone needed hugs.

Then something did happen, right as she was finishing her potatoes, which she'd saved until last! Food fight! She was eager to get involved immediately, so picked up her last potato, soaked in gravy, and chucked it towards the Ravenclaw table in the hope that it would miraculously hit Evan. Then she grinned at Hunter. This would be fun.

Linden sat quietly at the Ravenclaw table, picking at the meat and potatoes on her plate as she scanned the letter in front of her. She was finishing up a reply to her mother, and wanted to include as much about school as possible. Classes were going amazingly, and Linden couldn’t have been happier with her studies. She had begun carrying around the books for her favorite subjects, for whenever she had a spare moment to sit and read more about the wizarding world and magic.

She bent, forgetting her food and writing the last paragraph to her mother – answering her questions about Linden’s friends. Truthfully, Linden hadn’t had more than a ten-word conversation with another student in the school, with the exception of answering someone’s question during class. It didn’t bother the brunette any, because she was completely content with her head stuck in a book, but it would be nice to have a few acquaintances at least. Linden finished writing a vague paragraph about how everybody had been friendly to her so far – and they had been – when somebody shouted across the Great Hall.

“FOOD FIGHT,” rang out, and Linden automatically folded her letter into her stack of books as food began flying between tables. She was ready to gather her stuff and just walk out without finishing her dinner when a gravy-covered potato landed on the Ravenclaw table with an explosive splat. Turning, Linden put down the books in her hand and calmly wiped the gravy dripping from her eyebrow. Luckily for her, she had plenty of food left on her plate for ammunition as she took at handful of veggies and flung them toward the Gryffindor table, aim almost perfect. She couldn’t help the giggle that escaped her as she watched the food fly, and gathered more food on her plate to replenish her supply.

Blake sat alone in the Great Hall at the Gryffindor table. He had been too hungry when he had arrived late to seek out his friends and plonked himself down at the nearest empty seat.

He had been busy wolfing down food to satisfy his empty stomach, too distracted by the food to notice or take interest in any of his surrounding. He was busy polishing off the last of his gravy and mash when he saw a commotion happening out of the corner of his eye. Was that Ariel throwing food? He bit down on his lips as a small chuckle escaped. Obviously they hadn't been the best influence on the sweet and innocent girl as now she appeared to be instigating a food fight! Blake rolled his eyes, and returned to his own plate not really in the mood to have gravy thrown in his hair or to waste food. Food was to be eaten, not thrown around the place!

Blake was finished and content now that he was full, but he still didn't feel like getting involved until a load of potatoes hit the back of his head. He wiped a hand slowly through his hair, groaning, as he attempted to get it off as he searched the room for a culprit. He also noticed that Hunter and Aoife had decided to get involved, of course they would! Right time to take action. Blake put his hand into the nearest bowl of vegetables he could find and fired them back at a girl at the Ravenclaw table. He grinned to himself when he had hit his target. He continued flinging food in all directions, laughing more and more as he hit unsuspecting targets.

Maddie had been just about to leave the Great Hall to go back to the Common Room when she heard a shout and food started flying everywhere. Was this a regular thing at Hogwarts? She hoped not, it was scary and intimidating. It started off just at the other tables, but then the madness arrived at the Hufflepuff table. And everyone was getting up and taking part.

If Madeline stayed sitting down, she'd get hit. But then again, if she stood up and started throwing stuff at people, she'd still get hit. It was a lose-lose situation, really. Realising she was more likely to be aimed at if she was throwing stuff herself, she stayed sat down, watching the commotion with wide eyes. But then she felt a potato, dripping with gravy, land on her head. She just wanted to leave, but couldn't really. Trying to wipe away the traces of gravy left in her hair, she turned around and tried to work out who'd hit her.

Sitting at the Slytherin table was not unusual for Lucy. After all, it was her House. However, during her last few years she had been sitting with Gryffindor because the only person that she was closest to was her brother. Now that she was more independent, she sat by a couple of her own Slytherin friends and enjoyed her dinner while she talked about the upcoming trip to Hogsmeade. She ate her buttered bread and listened as a girl told them about how the first years were more trouble than usual, and how they should stay away from befriending them. The only first year she could think of was Hunter, and he didn't seem like much trouble. Shrugging, she was going to take a sip of her milk when something hit her  in the head. Right in between her forehead and her left eye, she felt the mushy, disgusting texture of a tomato.

"What the-?!" she was about to say her first every curse word, but stopped as she looked at the disgusted faces of the people around her. Some of them had also been hit by tomatoes but they were the kids Lucy didn't like, so it was okay. Some of them had turned in the direction of the Gryffindor table, where the tomatoes had come from, and there stood Little First Year Hunter. He had that kind of face that is sweet and angelic, but the mischevious grin on his face made Lucy laugh. When was the last time she had been in a food fight? That's right, NEVER. And here was Hunter and all of his little friends giving her that opportunity. Looking around at the table full of food, she laid her eyes on the chocolate cake in front of her. With a smile, she looked up and towards Hunter, all while taking a handful of cake. "Hey, Hunter! How hungry are you?" she asked as she threw the cake in his direction, aiming straight to his face.

Lyra was sitting at the Hufflepuff table again, next to Lyn. She wasn't talking much, just stuffing her face with food. Nobody else in the Great Hall seemed to be socialising and chatting much either. It was an unusually quiet and boring meal, actually. The Hufflepuffs were being too quiet. Maybe it would be louder with the Gryffindors, but she just couldn't hear from this far away. Still, she was staying with her twin, however boring her house's table may be.

Then she heard a familiar voice start something huge. Ariel! That girl was brilliant. And they were having a food fight! Everyone was starting to get up and get involved! So naturally, Lyra stood up and grabbed some potatoes and started flinging them everywhere. When she heard that girl Lucy shout something at Hunter and throw cake at him, she laughed, but decided to avenge his being hit by cake.

"Hey Lucy! Don't throw cake at my brother!" Lyra shouted, giggling, and threw a potato at her. Hehe.

Vanessa walked into the Great hall with her lunch and found herself in the middle of a major food fight. The next thing she knew, a blob of potatoes landed in her hair. She screamed bloody murder and threw food at the closest person near her. She ran and hid beneath a table and flung food at whatever she could hit.

When a huge food fight started, Jen refused to be immature and stupid enough to join in. Rolling her eyes, she took another forkful of salad and ignored the whole thing as if it wasn't happening. People wouldn't dare to throw anything at her. She was Jennifer Moss, for God's sake. She'd hex anyone who tried. But then a piece of disgusting, calories-filled cake hit her HAIR! Her HAIR! And it ruined it! Her beautiful hair! Ruined! Her face cold and unforgiving, she stood up and searched the room for the target, but had no clue who it was. Now what to do...she was almost certain it had come from the direction of the Gryffindor table, those gits. So she chucked a load of cake towards it. And then sat back down. And tried to fix her hair.

Ariel felt a grin spread on her face as she saw it all catch on like crazy. Suddenly Hunter was on his feet and throwing tomatoes at her. She managed to duck away from some of them, but the last one, she caught in her hand, which wasn't a very smart thing. It went splash all over and into her left eye. She squeezed it shut and grabbed the first thing she could find, which was sticky as hell. She threw it wherever and then ducked as something else came her way.

She ducked, but was splattered with potato and salad. She just shrugged it all away and laughed heartily, throwing everything she could find that wasn't forks or knives or spoons or cups or plates. Just everything soft and mushy. She looked around and saw someone from the Slytherin house joining, and another one hiding beneath a table.

Ariel was so happy at that moment, people were just laughing and having loads of fun! And it was so much fun! She looked around and saw Blake having joined the party as well and threw pudding at him, hoping it would hit before throwing salad over at the Hufflepuff table.

What she didn't notice was how her hair was slowly turning into a happy very bright and white pink.

With a smile, Lucy laughed as she watched the food fight taking off around her. She wanted to laugh even more when Jen got hit by some cake, but being a friend, Lucy held it back. Instead, she turned back to the Gryffindor table, which she had now realized was the table that started it all. She was about to throw some buttered bread in their direction, but she was hit with a potato before she could move. It was a small girl from the Hufflepuff table, but she had Gryffindor robes.

"Your brother?" she laughed, not even caring that the girl could have easily injured her. This was a food fight! "Do I even know you?" she yelled back, realizing that she must be Little Hunter's sister. How the girl knew Lucy's name she didn't know, but maybe Hunter had bragged about knowing older students.

She took a handful of spaghetti and aimed at the girl. "Nice to meet you now, though!" she shouted as the spaghetti was about land. Then she heard a voice near her, and Lucy turned around quickly. "Destroy them? Sure, but just a warning, my brother is there. He has a good arm." she smiled and handed the girl a fried tomato. "I'm Lucy Malfoy, by the way. Nice to meet you in such strange circumstances."

"Which ones your brother?" Vanessa took a glob of cake form the floor and threw it at Blake. "Ha! Direct shot!" She clapped excitedly, "As you can see, I have a good arm as well. And I'm tiny so I move fast."

Lucy smirked, "I won't tell you." Why would she sell out her brother like that? No way, she would never do that. Besides, she didn't exactly hate Gryffindors. She watches as Vanessa threw the tomato directly at some boy who seemed to be about her age. "You're actually of average height." Lucy corrected. "Tiny would be less than five feet tall, and you're close to my height." Lucy was only 5'5'' but she was normally tall for being 17, though she had started out as being really short.

She quickly took a handful of the brownies in front of her and started flinging them in every direction, not caring where it landed. Except for one small bit that was headed right to the other side of her own table, towards her friend Jennifer. Nooooo!

Yes! Everybody was joining the food fight! Honestly, though, who could resist? Well, besides Jen, who glared around at everyone, got hit in the head with some cake, retaliated and then sat down and resumed glaring. How could anyone be so boring? Unfortunately, his tomatoes had missed Jen completely, but one had managed to get Lucy. Hunter burst into laughter as his tomato splattered onto her forehead. The look on her face was priceless. She was definitely not expecting it!

Hunter hadn't expected Lucy to join in so quickly, but before he had a chance to duck she asked him about being hungry and had thrown a handful of cake straight at him. "Arghh!" he exclaimed as it collided straight with his face. She had a good arm. "I'll get you for that," he told her with a laugh. Reaching a hand up to wipe the icing and chocolate from his eyes the best he could, he looked around to see who else had actually joined in. Aoife and Blake of course, and now Lucy. Some other Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs.

Hunter spun in surprise as something whizzed past his ear, just missing him. It hit Lucy spot on, and Hunter grinned at Lyra as she avenged his injury. "Nice hit," he shouted to her before grabbing more ammunition. What to use next? Hunter's eyes quickly settled on a large bowl of pudding sitting in the middle of the table. "Brilliant," he murmured to himself, grabbing it before anyone could get their hands on it. But who to target? Well, Ariel had started it, and she was the closest person to him, so why not her.

Grinning mischievously, he darted around so that he could come up behind the little blonde first year. It was chaotic enough that she might not notice him. Moving quickly, Hunter snuck up behind her and dumped the bowl of pudding right over her head. Hopefully, he'd been sneaky enough and she wouldn't notice in time to dodge it! The moment the pudding spilled from the bowl, Hunter tossed it aside and sprinted away a few feet so that he was a safe distance from Ariel.

Blake was really getting into this whole food fighting now. He had somehow avoided being hit so far and he was causing so much damage as he had thrown about two plates of vegetables across the Great Hall.

Blake paused for a second to reassess the situation, he spotted Nessa coming in and immediately taking cover. He laughed to himself, but before he could plan a surprise attack on her she had gone and taken refuge with an older Slytherin student. No way was he attacking her now.

Blake turned his sights elsewhere and saw a Hufflepuff engaging. They were always easy targets! But before he had the oppurtunity to fire the pile of potatoes pudding had hit him full force in the face. Blake peeled it off, the remains left plastered on his face. He spotted Ariel chuckling to herself and now she was his next target!

But before he crept up to her, he had someone else in mind. Aoife. Now was the perfect time to direct some pent up rage at her. He looked around trying to spot something that could do the most damage. Carrots, they were hard! He grabbed a load and flung them forcefully at her, trying to make it look like an accident as if he was aiming for the next table over. "Sorry!" He shouted out, apologetically smiling at her.

He then weaved his way between students, grabbing supplies on the way, while dodging flying debris and made an almighty dessert pile of ice cream, cream, pudding, chocolate cake and an assortment of different fruits piled up on a large platter. Blake grinned greedily to himself, he would've eaten it then and there if he didn't have this important mission in mind.

He spotted Ariel a few seats up from him, still wreaking havoc and he smirked to himself as he dived behind her and plonked the pile of desserts right down on top of her. "That's what you get for shouting in my ear and throwing pudding at me." He whispered menacingly in her ear. Before scarpering pronto, not giving her the chance to retaliate, all the while giggling to himself.

While Blake decided he was going to try and take cover indefinitely a tomato came and hit him full force in the face. Blake looked up and seen Nessa still with those Slytherins. Dang it! No way he was taking that, he thought defiantly to himself as he looked at her smug grin. He searched frantically around him and grabbed the nearest plate of cake he could get his hands on swinging it in Nessa's direction. He ducked again though as something else came in his direction. Did he hit Nessa? He sincerely hoped so because if he didn't he had hit one of the Slytherins.. Blake gulped to himself trying to regain his composure. No way he could stay here now and wait for them to attack. He looked around and spotted Hunter still enjoying the food fight. He would provide some shelter, from what Blake knew he actually got on with some of the Slytherins. Blake crawled over to his friend, still trying to calm his breathing hoping that the Slytherins hadn't noticed the cake thrown in their direction. Oh god, it was an awful lot of cake. "Hey Hunter!" Blake greeted, his voice sounding hoarse at this stage. "Mind if I take some cover here for a bit?" He asked trying to sound nonchalant, as he shouted trying to be heard over the noise of the Great Hall which had been growing in decibel level for sometime now.

Suddenly, a piece of cake hit Vanessa right in the face. She saw where it came from, "BLAKE RALSTON!" She grabbed some vegetables and flung them to where she saw Blake run to. Maybe she would hit Hunter in the process as well.

Sydney waked in wearing her favorite blue top and white jeans. Suddenly, she was attacked by a tangled wad of spaghetti. The sauce oozed down her outfit and she dropped her tray in shock. "What the.... WHO DID THIS!?" She screamed. She threw the spaghetti back through the air and it conveniently hit Lucy.

Ariel was so engaged in the moment and only focused on throwing around herself, not caring what hit her as her eye had cleansed itself. That was, at least, up until a hole dung of pudding was running down her face, covering her head. She took a moment to breathe and then turned, just seeing Hunter jumping away.

She made big eyes and then was about to shout out at him as something sticky and ice was thrown onto her head as well, and Blake dashed past her. She gasped and blinked and then let a squeal through her lips. Oh - so - cold! She then started giggling until she was laughing loudly, grabbing what she could find and continued to throw around her.

She then looked at the sauce can in front of her. Blake and Hunter were both standing together. Not very smart… She grabbed the huge bowl of sauce, and put a ton of ice in it to chill it down so it wouldn't actually burn them. Then she grabbed two handfuls of mashed potatoes and stuck them in the sauce. She added syrup and pudding and spaghetti sauce and spaghetti and oils and whatever she could find that was somewhat floating and then she crawled under the table, taking her potion with her.

She got to where she saw that Hunter and Blake were standing and quickly got out from under the table on the other side of them, grinning manically at them. "Happy Hanukkah!" she said just as crazily as she looked and threw the inmates of the bowl straight at their faces. Even if they managed to duck, it would take quite a lot of skill to not get a speck on them at all. She then ran for it and picked up more food, throwing around her while jumping up and down, being randomly hit by all sorts of food.

Lucy watched in amusement as Vanessa went to throw food at someone she assumed was the girl's friend. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves as food flew in every direction, mostly towards one girl with blonde hair who vaguely resembled Darcy Wilde. Tilting her head to the side, and forgetting completely about the fact that she could have hit Jen, Lucy stared at the young Gryffindor girl. She had the same hair color, the same face shape, and the same look in their eyes. The only difference she could see was that Darcy looked kinder, and this girl looked more....wild.

Her mind was so focused on trying to see if this girl was in any way related to Darcy, that Lucy didn't even see the ball of spaghetti that was thrown her way. It landed messily on her face. For a second, she had forgotten where she was but still, she laughed and turned around to hit whoever she could see first.

Aoife was REALLY enjoying this! Without thinking, she was chucking food everywhere. They'd probably be out of food if everyone carried on like this. She could always see if Rosey would bring out some more simply for the purpose of food fighting. That would be good! But they'd carry on forever and everyone would be covered head to toe in weird mushy stuff, like she was already!

Slipping slightly on the mess on the floor, she giggled and threw some stuff towards the Ravenclaw table. Some of those gits deserved it! Then, she was taken by surprise, and hit in the head with CARROTS! They were way too hard for a nice friendly food fight. Gasping in shock and a little bit of pain, she turned to see who the culprit was. Blake Ralston, that messed up GIT! Aoife hoped there would be a bruise the next day, simply so she could go around telling people that thug had hit her in the head with CARROTS!

Now, revenge. She needed something just as heavy and potentially harmful as the carrots. Potatoes. PotatoGirl. Aoife had to live up to that nickname now. Creeping up behind him in what she hoped was a sneaky and unnoticeable way, she stood up on the seat behind him (because she'd be too small otherwise) and tried to dump five or six potatoes on Blake's head. Whether they would hit him or not, she didn't know, since she ran to watch from further away then, in case he hit her or something. "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU CHUCK CARROTS AT MY HEAD, YOU GIT!"

Jen was about to leave and go back to the Common Room, away from all this children madness, but then she saw a smallish bit of some chocolately brownie thing flying towards her face. All she had time to do was tilt her head slightly to the side so it wouldn't hitched square in the face. But it hit her hair! Again! Did all these little kids have a conspiracy against her to ruin her hair and humiliate her when everyone laughed?

It was easy to see it had come from the Slytherin table. Her own house, those who she trusted. Well, not really. It was only to be expected by one of the stupid Slytherin first years. But Jennifer was SO dirtiest when she saw who the culprit was. Lucy! That girl was supposed to be her friend! She needed something disgusting, gooey and equally bad to throw at her. Was that sticky toffee pudding? Perfect! Smirking slightly, she took a huge handful and launched it in the direction of LUCY'S head.

Having completely forgotten about Jen, Lucy moved on to her next target. That one Gryffindor boy by the name Blake that Vanessa seemed to be attacking. "I'll help you, V." Lucy said, not taking the time to use her whole name. In times like these, one shouldn't waste time on silly name calling and whatnot. One must simply attack! She took some apple slices and raised her hand to aim at the boy, but some sticky matter hit her first. Landing straight on her hair, Lucy lowered her hand and aimed at Jennifer, who had hit her with whatever the sticky pudding was. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you the first time! But now I don't see a problem!" Lucy smiled as she threw the apple slices towards Jennifer. Well, she wasn't going to focus on some random kid when she had a friend right there!

Blake grimaced to himself when he heard his name ringing out across the Great Hall. That was clearly Nessa’s voice; it was hard to mistake the shrillness of it. Obviously his cake throwing had been a success he thought slightly disappointed hoping he hadn’t hit any other Slytherins. On the other hand, his aim was proving exceptional as he had tossed cake more than 25 metres across the room and still managed to hit his target. Funny what you could learn about yourself in the middle of a food fight.

Blake had also figured that remaining with Hunter was best tactic for survival now. He had hit too many people in the last ten minutes to be safe and maybe he could offer some protection. If not, he could at least suffer in his own misery. Blake soon realised that he couldn’t cover a 360 degree radius and watch students from every table, which left him liable to be hit. He was about to do something about this weakness in his defence, thinking attack was the best form of defence, but food seemed to be running short in supply around him. He was about to move for more ammo, when a barrage of food seemed to attack him at once. First it was vegetables; next it was the worst mix of food ever that appeared slimy and sticky all at once. And finally he heard Aoife shouting down the entire Great Hall and before he could scarper he was pelted with potatoes that were definitely going to bruise in the morning! “IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!” Blake shouted out, not really at anyone in particular as he stood in the middle of the Great Hall food with sauce dripping off of him, leaving a messy pile of remnants at his feet.

Blake moaned to himself as he pulled the spaghetti off his face, allowing him to see. He burst out laughing at the fact that Hunter had also been doused in whatever food Ariel had appeared to get her hands on. At least he wasn’t the only mess in the room, although he probably did look considerably worse he thought to himself as he began picking potato out of his hair that had begun sticking there thanks to Ariel’s previous attack. Blake looked back at Hunter and just began to burst into laughter at the silliness of the situation. He was done with revenge now! The girls appeared to be pro's and he stood no chance. Blake looked down at himself and was torn between disgust and hunger as he imagined the state he was probably in now. He placed a finger on his t-shirt and grabbed some ice cream that had trickled down onto it. Mmm mint, his favourite!
