| As Leo entered the Great Hall, he instantly looked up the enchanted ceiling. Just like as many other students, this had always been his favorite part of the inside of the castle. It was barely morning, and the clouds on the sky were visible from there, making his lips curl into a small smile. The feeling made him feel out of place with himself, so he ignored it. Turning to look at the students, he glanced over them to make sure everyone was there and nobody had ditched. Quinn...Finnigan...Malfoy...Delacour...and Rosier. "Alright. Looks like everyone is here." he said, "Now, Miss Rosier, this is the Great Hall. This is the main gathering area in the school. In here, you will do common activities such as eating lunch and receiving your mail. Some special events may be held in here with permission too." Pointing to the four elongated tables, he said, "Those are one for each House. Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff." Turning to the table at the front, he said "That one is for the professors and our Headmistress, Mrs. Torres. That' her chair." he pointed to one that resembled a throne. "Here is where you will be sorted, Miss Rosier." | |

| Aurelia let out an audible gasp, as her azure orbs flickered towards the enchanted ceiling above. The cerulean clouds were visible from their viewpoint; the specks of white against a sea of blue making the sky seem like an endless horizon. "How beautiful," she whispered, clearly in awe of her surroundings. As Leo began to point to the four elongated tables, Aurelia's gaze flitted across each, though it did linger at the Slytherin table. As she recalled, both her parents had been a member of that house, so she figured that she was destined to be one, as well. Noticing the chair that resembled a throne, a small smirk appeared on her lips, as her mind formed a snide remark. Of course, the Headmistress rules this place. "Here is where you will be sorted, Miss Rosier," stated Leo. The comment jolted her back to reality and she studied him with a slightly panicked gaze. "In front of...everyone, you mean?" she queried, gesturing towards the tables and numerous seats. "And I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a secret or not, but how exactly are you sorted?" It was a question that she had often pestered her late parents with, though neither of them had informed her. They'd wanted it to be a 'pleasant surprise', and were both sure it would be a very memorable experience. | |

| As they walked into the Great Hall, Aurora lingered near the back of the group. Her job was to taalk about the professors, right? Should that start here? Since she didn't know, she stayed quiet for the moment. Progressing to the center of the room, where the Sorting Hat was placed every year, Aurelia seemed to get a bit panicked. She obviously didn't want to appear like a fool in front of everyone. Aurora remembered having similar fears herself, but then, she had known what was coming.
While the rest of the group chattered amongst themselves, Aurora looked up at the ceiling. She saw itevery day, but it never ceased to amaze her. She could almost imagine that it was a roofless room, open to the elements. Elements... A prickly feeling accompanied the words, as with every time she thought of them. Perhaps it had something to do with the ghost's message.
Aurora snapped out of her thoughts and returned to the group. Nothing seemed to have happened, so she relaxed. But that feeling still remained in the back of her mind. |
