| It wasn't unusual for Sera to be seen sitting under a shade tree near the beach. In fact, that was the exact location she was at now. She gazed out at the ocean. It sparkled a bright shiny blue as the sun rose over it. She had just finished her morning crunches and push ups and had went down to her quiet place. She loved waking before everyone else. Technically, curfew was lifted now, as it was about 7 in the morning and breakfast would soon be served.
She leaned against the tree and wrote in her journal. She wrote about how well her workouts were going and she wrote about Corvin, the cute guy she'd gone swimming with. She wrote about classes and the people she'd met. Most importantly, she tore out the paper, rolled it up, and strapped in to the barn owl she had with her, she he could take it to Daddy. She missed her Daddy. She wrote to him often, and he replied back just as often. They kept each other up to date on their lives. Sera expressed how excited she was to be going home this Christmas to see him.
As the owl flew off, she caught sight of what looked like children in the distance, a boy and a girl, siblings maybe. Sera didn't worry about them too much because they weren't bothering her. However, not long after she's turned to look back at the ocean, she'd felt them grow closer. | |
