Lucia was standing behind her desk as she watched the students filing in. She had prepared the lesson and on the blackboard the potion for the day was written in capital letters. She had decided to join some classes, as it was a very practical solution. Not to mention it wasn't such a difficult task for the professors to make the classes suit their schedule as it had been some other years.

She smiled at the students and as they took their seats, she instantly started the class. "Welcome, first years and other new faces, to potions, and welcome back to you old ones," she said with a twinkle in her eyes, "It's good to have you back." She then pointed to the blackboard, not wanting to waste much time. "Now, Elixir to Enduce Euphoria. What is this potion?" she asked, looking at the students, wondering if anyone would know.

"And also, what are the ingredients?" she asked.

Blackboard:

[OOC: Please know that if you rp your character as being late, the student will lose housepoints.]

Potions. Ew, cutting up slugs. But maybe that wouldn't be a part of today's lesson. She hoped so. Aoife was determined to gain house points, though, so she was going to pretend to be an amazing Potions student! How hard could it be if she concentrated and followed exactly what it said in the book? And, in her determination to win top student, last night she'd studied a while so she was now much more knowledgeable about the subject. Studying, however unusual it was for her, just helped her take her mind off the anger and... sadness? Hunter was a git and she never wanted to talk to him again, but it didn't mean she wasn't going to continue in her quest to do awesome in class. It was even more important to do much better than him academically now.

"Hi, professor," she said, probably not as bright and happy as usual, but that was reasonable, wasn't it? She walked in and took her seat. Her seat alone. Hopefully nobody would sit down next to her. She was not in the mood to deal with someone.

And the first question. She knew the answer! At least, she was pretty sure that she did. Elixir to Induce Euphoria. Aoife remembered it from the book last night! Her hand shot up. "It's a bright yellow potion that makes you really happy," she said. Now what was in it? "And... er... there's peppermint and wormwood. And those beans and the shrivellyfiggy thing." Close enough, she thought.

Seren was rather early to Potions, as always. But she was surprised to find that she had been beaten by miss sheep lover and chair thrower herself! That was quite unlike her. She probably didn't have anything better to do since her only friend was Hunter, and she had finally scared him off (which was bound to happen sometime). Seen still didn't know how to react to the news that Aoife didn't want to date Hunter, so she just ignored the pathetic redhead and took a seat away from her.

Hunter wasn't exactly having a very good day. Yesterday, he'd made the biggest mistake of his life and actually asked Aoife on a date. How could he have been so stupid to think that it would end well? But really, she'd went and blown the whole thing completely out of proportion! She threw a chair at his face and threw a fit so obnoxiously that the entire castle would be talking about it for weeks. And Hunter couldn't decide if he was sad or embarrassed or just angry.

It didn't matter either way - he and Aoife were most definitely not speaking, no matter what he felt about the situation. Not after what she'd done. Hunter rubbed his hand absentmindedly as he walked along the dungeon corridor on his way to potions - Logan had mended it in no time, but it still ached a bit from the impact of punching that wall.

To make matters worse, when Hunter got to potions, he was greeted with bright red hair. Hunter hadn't seen Aoife at all since the day before. He wasn't sure if she was avoiding him or if they just hadn't crossed paths, but he was glad for it. Now, he wasn't sure what to do. For a moment, he actually considered sitting by her and pretending that nothing had happened. Maybe he could patch everything up and they could still be friends. But then he pushed the thought from his mind. No. Aoife had crossed the line yesterday, and Hunter was fairly certain that their friendship wasn't going to be repaired any time soon.

So, though part of him wanted to go to Aoife, whether out of habit or longing, Hunter shouldered his bag and made his way to the other side of the room, where Seren sat. And as he slid into a chair next to the dark-haired girl, Hunter was sure that he'd sealed his fate. Aoife wouldn't want anything to do with him now that he'd chosen to sit with Seren over her - even if they were fighting at the time. But Hunter told himself that it was fine, because he shouldn't want anything to do with her either after yesterday. But he did.

Rather than thinking about it, he turned his attention away from Aoife and tried to focus on Seren instead. "Hey there," Hunter said weakly to her. "You don't mind, do you?" he asked her, running a hand through his hair tiredly. He hadn't gotten much sleep last night. Hunter cringed a bit as Aoife answered the professor's question, and he corrected the answer in his head - porcupine quills, sopophorous beans, shrivelfig - but just didn't have the heart to do so out loud. She didn't sound normal, but there wasn't much he could do.

Blake had never experienced something as awkward as yesterday had been before in his life. And he wasn't even Hunter. But what did he expect when he went and asked out Aoife of all people. At first Blake had been seriously angry, but that soon diminished when Aoife's reaction became apparent and relief flooded him. And on the plus side Blake didn't even have to sit with the girl in class today. He really couldn't hold back the grin that surfaced on his face at this reality. Blake nodded to Aoife with a smug smile on his face. It was only polite to acknowledge her after all, wasn't it. He then traipsed on towards Hunter and Seren. "Hey guys, whats up?" Blake asked in an unusually chirpy tone. He just couldn't help it. Hunter liking Aoife had weighed heavily on him more so than he realised. And now he felt a lot happier in the knowledge that Aoife had turned him down. Blake was too happy to even think about chastising Hunter for asking out the meanest girl he knew.

Blake was actually excited about the start of term, mainly because it meant potions and he was now a teaching assistant. He was also nervous about his new role. He hoped he didn't have to do too much. Blake greeted Lucia warmly as he entered the classroom, but had kept it to a minimum since no one knew of their great summer expedition. "Hi Professor," he greeted happily with a warm smile.

Soon enough the class started so he didn't have to worry about lifting Hunter's mood. He hadn't seen him down like this before, Blake was confident he'd get over it though and moving on to new people was always the best option. Plenty of time to lift Hunter's mood after class right now Blake had to concentrate. He was the class assistant after all. And much to Blake's delight he realised he knew the answer to the posed question. He had read it in one of the books suggested to him by the professor herself. But of course, stupid, obnoxious Aoife got there first. Maybe next time he told himself.

Tallulah rushed into class. Hogwarts was so new and confusing! And it didn't help that she has never been to school before. Tallulah's dads didn't prepare her for this change. She looked around the classroom. She didn't know anyone and they all seemed older. Oh come on, use that Gryffindor bravery that I supposily have... Tallulah thought to herself.

"Sorry Professor. I was lost and then the staircases switched on me. I guess I'm not used to Hogwarts yet." Tallulah said, her cheeks bright red from embarrassment. Tallulah looked around. She didn't know where to sit and if she should sit next to someone.

Ugh. These gits were not useful, at all. The snake stayed in the back of the classroom, trying to keep to the shadows. Nadia tried not to talk to anyone, and if she did talk to anyone, she needed to stun herself, while locked in the Slytherin girl's dormitory, alone. Being alone was the best thing in her opinion when it came to the Slytherin girl's dormitory is because some of the people who were sorted into Slytherin didn't even belong there.

At least it was Potions. She was going to have to stay for potions, because of her git father. He had always wanted his little girl to be experienced in Potions. Maybe she would be interested if the teacher wasn't a Lion. Lions annoyed her more than any other house. Just because of their stupid heroics and the way they make everything confusing. Nadia was thinking about leaving at any given moment, but then remembered that her father finds out EVERYTHING.

So there she was, playing with her white-blonde hair, waiting for the class to start. Signing up for this class was probably the most idiotic thing she had ever done.
