| Freja had been slaving over an Elixirs essay for about ten minutes, and she already felt driven out of her mind by the boredom. Durmstrang was brilliant so far, just like her brothers and sister - who were ignoring her right now because she was such an uncool first year - had said before she got here. The only thing she didn't approve of was the homework. In muggle school, she got very little of this awful extra work, and some of this Durmstrang stuff was really difficult. Like this essay. True, she'd hardly spent any time on it, but it had required so much effort she felt like she desperately needed a break now. Sometimes, other homework was even worse. Despite having grown up in a magical family, she lacked so much general knowledge of the wizarding world, which was apparently useful when it came to these difficult homeworks.
Deciding that she wouldn't procrastinate any longer if she just allowed herself a quick break, she got up from the table she'd been working at and went to sit in an armchair by the fire. With a huge grin on her face, Freja ripped open a pack of some wonderful imported chocolate from Asia that her mother had given her before she came to school - as a goodbye present. Her mother was so sentimental. It was a little embarrassing sometimes. Like when the woman had cried when she was about to get on the boat. | |
