Charms, Term 11, Years 5-7

Andre isn't in the room yet, as always. You should really stop expecting him to be on time.

Aoife was way too tired for class this morning, having been up reading the only John Green book she hadn’t read, An Abundance of Katherines, until the early hours of the morning, and then being too excited to find out what happened next to fall asleep. The struggle of being a huge John Green fan. Nonetheless, she dragged herself out of bed in time for breakfast and then against her better judgement, headed to go to Charms. It wasn’t that this class was a particularly difficult subject, it was just that she felt like she was about to fall and go to sleep in the middle of this corridor.

She was the first one into the classroom, so just sat down and put her head down in the hope that she could fit in a quick nap before Professor Leblanc arrived.

It took four alarms and three snooze buttons for Victoria to wake up on time, which was better than most mornings. She took a quick shower, put on the first thing that fell out of her clustered closet and headed to the mirror. Staring at her own reflection, she analyzed the state of her hair. It was frizzy and wild, not unlike something you would find on a lion. Add the fact that her hair was still purple and you could see why it was a sight that would frighten most children away. With a firm brush and ten minutes of her time, she managed to tame it into looking sort of decent, considering the unfortunate color. But now that Victoria was stuck with it for at least a few weeks, she was determined to make the best of it. Why the hell not would she have purple hair? Purple was an awesome color - or so she tried to convince herself.

Picking up her Charm books, she headed to her first class of the day. And Merlin's beard, could you imagine that she was not late but early to the class? The room was empty save a single girl that had her head buried into the desk. Based on her hair and the Gryffindor outfit, she guessed that it was a very tired Aoife O'Donnell. "Nap time!", Victoria announced  cheerfully as she sat next to the girl and joined in. Placing her books on the table, she used them as a rather uncomfortable version of a pillow.
