| Tor never had anything to do at Hogwarts. He'd read for a bit, but his short attention span meant he couldn't usually focus for more than five minutes or so. He didn't have any homework yet, as it was the very start of term. He didn't know how other students coped with the ongoing boredom. It was unbearable.
But then he found out about the Quidditch Pitch and suddenly Hogwarts seemed a whole lot more interesting. Tor didn't want to try out for the Slytherin team. He didn't like his house and helping them earn points? Uninterested. Still, he loved flying and Quidditch, so he changed from his uniform after school to quidditch robes and grabbed his broom, ready to go.
When he got there, it was straight up into the air. He loved the carefree, relaxing feeling of soaring through the sky. How poetic. Tor was a beater, but he had nobody to practice with so that wouldn't work. He just practiced chucking the quaffle through the hoops a bit. He was more here for something to do rather than to actually practice. This thread is closed to Kynan Walters.

| Kynan couldn't believe that he was back to Hogwarts so soon. The summer seemed to have rushed by so fast that it seemed like a dream. And he was already in his fifth year. He remembered his parents urging him to do better in school this year, due to the O.W.L.s he'd be having by the end of it. Aylee had given him a big lecture on the car ride to King's Cross Station about it as well. Ethan had just sighed and made funny faces behind everyone's backs, but even Kynan was noticing that his older brother was much more mature than he used to be. Would he have to be like that someday?
Of course, Aylee would be visiting him weekly soon to help him with studying. That's what his parents got him to do. Because his fifth year was going to be really serious and all that bullshit. So, before all that happened, Kynan decided to spend his free time having fun while he could, because he knew Aylee wouldn't let him get out of it. He was still secretly hoping to get the chance to talk to Maya as well, but they always seemed busy. Like last year, when he asked Maya to go with him to Hunter's end of term party, he had to ditch because he'd been hit by a bludger in Quidditch Practise. And when he did get the chance to talk to her he still couldn't find the right words to ask her out. Due to life being frustrating at the moment, Kynan decided to go outside.
So that's what he did. When that day's lessons were over, he ditched his schoolbag in the Gryffindor Common Room and changed into a normal jumper and jeans. Then he found his way outside. It wasn't dark yet, so Kynan decided he could practise something with the bludger or just fly. He was still unsure, really. He was bored. As he walked into the Quidditch Pitch, he was still deep in thought so he didn't bother to look up and notice the guy flying around. Instead, his feet automatically led him to the broom cupboard, full of the spare brooms that the school let students without brooms use. Kynan was still saving up to buy a good broom, and not one of those old ones.
The school brooms were a bit dusty, but they were OK. So as Kynan picked the one he usually used, he walked outside and found the balls chest open with the Quaffle gone. His first thought was that someone had stolen off the school, when he looked up in the air for the first time. There was someone up there, chucking the Quaffle through one of the goalposts again and again. Kynan blinked and then shook his head. Then he decided to go befriend the guy. Who knows, maybe they could practise together or something! Whoever it was, he actually looked pretty good with the Quaffle, so maybe he was on one of the House teams. He couldn't distinguish whoever it was from afar.
Without wasting any time, Kynan mounted the broom and took off. He loved the sensation of flying, but didn't linger on it. The Chaser guy had just scored another goal, so he decided to go catch the Quaffle for him. Kynan shot at his highest speed towards that Quaffle and grabbed it with one hand, the other one holding tight on the broom. Then, with the Quaffle tucked neatly under one of his arms, he flew up to meet whoever it was. "Here you go!" he said, tossing the Quaffle towards the guy and hoping that he didn't drop it. Kynan didn't feel like going to chase after it again- he was a better Beater than a Chaser.

| Tor scored most of the shots he took. Maybe he should consider a different position. Chaser. No, he was much too attached to his beater bat. Beater was much better than chaser anyway. Chasers had to be precise and prepared. Beaters flew around hitting people with big sticks.
When he scored yet another shot, he was about to lunge forward and retrieve the quaffle but stopped. Another student had gone to get it for him. Why? That made no sense. Did this boy expect something in return? Tor didn't see why else he would voluntarily stop whatever he was doing and help. At his old school, people were harsh, violent and rarely helped strangers unless there was something in it for themselves.
He nodded towards the boy and leaned forward to catch the quaffle. Who was it? Hufflepuff? From what he'd learnt, that was the house full of pushovers, weirdos and nice guys. Then he decided to go and find out, intrigued. In that cool flashy show-off way, Tor flew one-handed towards him, throwing the quaffle in the air and catching it repeatedly. Just because he was a show-off.
"Tor," he introduced himself, his eyes showing a hint of a smile. "Exchange student," he added quickly, in case the boy realised he'd never seem him before.
