Starting Out Anew

Lucas's dark eyes browsed the few things around the staff room. The most eye-catching was the mix-and-match sort of furniture decorating the place. There was a desk also, very similar to the one he had thrown out of his office. "Ugh," Lucas let out a deep sigh, wondering if everything looked as it did when he was a student. Having disliked the decorations intensely when he attended the school, seeing them again brought a smile to his face.

"I see you're still as strong as ever, though." His fingers caressed the wall, and then the desk, and then the small sofas. "I've always like that about you. Good lord, I might be going insane!" His hands went up in the air. "I'm talking to a room!"

Selene was walking to the Staff Room to pick some papers she had just gotten for her class, when she heard loud talking just outside the door. Startled, she opened the door to find herself facing a familiar face. "Lucas?" She asked, not believing what she was seeing. "When did you get here?"

"Selene!" he shouted as he turned around to face the person in the doorway. "Long time no see." he winked, knowing nothing had changed after they both left Hogwarts. "About two days ago." he said, "But I haven't done much. I rearranged that horrible office...so dull." he frowned. "But what about you, I know you teach Care of Magical Creatures, but how have you been?" he pulled out one of the mismatched chair for her to take a seat.
