Lesson Make Up

Wade and Lucy walked toward Professor Wayne's office. As they approached it, they started feeling the temperature get a bit colder.
"Is it my imagination, or is it colder in here than it was back there?" he asked her, pointing at the other offices.
Once they arrived, Wade knocked on the door. A few moments later, Professor Wayne opened the door.
"Professor, I believe we need to make up the second lesson?" Wade said, quite unsure of his words.

"Yes. Come in" James said, allowing them in.

Lucy felt quite a bit cold as they approached Professor Wayne's office.
"Is it my imagination, or is it colder in here than it was back there?" Wade suddenly asked.
"No, it gets colder as we get farther into his office." she answered him, holding onto his arm for comfort and warmth. It wasn't that she was scared of Professor Wayne, because she wasn't. She truly wasn't scared of him, but he was too strict sometimes that she didn't want to disappoint him.
Well, we already did. Twice in a week. First, I can't come to his first lesson, and Wade is very disrespectful. Second, Wade and I have to leave early. That's not fair to him as teacher. She thought to herself.
As Wade knocked on the door, Professor Wayne opened it.
"Professor, I believe we need to make up the second lesson?" Wade said, sounding unusually unsure of himself.
"Yes, come in." Professor Wayne said, making way for them to enter the office.
Still holding onto her cousin, Lucy walked in.

"I have prepared both of your cauldrons here. Your job is to boil the water and then add five lacewing flies to it. Then, add three drops of flabberghasted leeches, and then you are done. Easy enough, right?"

Hmm, I guess this is easy. Wade thought. As Lucy let go, he went to stand in front of the cauldron. Looking inside of it, he asked, "How do we know when to add the drops of flabberghasted leeches?"
Turning up the heat, he backed away, not wanting to get his face burned, and listened to the Professor's reply.

"You add it after the water has boiled and you add the lacewing flies. I hope you can work at the speed of a silver cauldron."

What's silver cauldron speed? Wade wondered, glancing at Lucy to see if she knew what he meant.
Turning up the heat, he waited for the water to boil.

Lucy let go of Wade and took her place next to her cauldron. She was never very fond of potions, and it scared her a little since this was really the first time she would actually brew one.
"How do we know when to add the drops of flabberghasted leeches?" Wade asked.
"You add it after the water has boiled and you add the lacewing flies. I hope you can work at the speed of a silver cauldron." Professor Wayne replied, and Lucy wondered what he meant by "speed of a silver cauldron".
Wade glanced at her, confused, and Lucy did the same. It seemed that neither of them knew what the Professor meant. She watched as Wade turned up the heat, and she did the same, hoping it would at least turn out right.

After ten minutes, James noticed little boils on the cauldron. "Great. I think both of yours is about ready. Add the lacewing flies and flabberghasted leeches."

Wade waited patiently for the water to boil, and after around ten minutes, bubbles started to come up.
"Great. I think both of yours is about ready. Add the lacewing flies and flabberghasted leeches." Professor Wayne told them. Wade and Lucy added the lacewings and the flabberghasted leeches into the cauldron and waited for further instructions.

They both added the lacewings and flabberghasted leeches. "Good, now, you'r done! That wasn't so hard, was it? Great, 15 points to slytherin then. Off you go now."

Wade looked into the cauldron again, to make sure that he had added the right ingredients when Professor Wayne's deep voice startled him.
"Good, now, you'r done! That wasn't so hard, was it? Great, 15 points to slytherin then. Off you go now." He said.
"That's it?" Wade asked in amazement, glancing at Lucy, "Well that was easy." he said as he walked toward the door.
"Thanks Professor Wayne, for letting us make up the lesson." he said with a smile as they were walking out the door.
Once out of the professor's office, Wade turned to Lucy, "He was very nice today."
