Hogwarts Hosts Masquerade BallPublished Nov. 2nd, 2033 By Alyssa Munoz, Junior Reporter This past Halloween, the professors of Hogwarts hosted a masquerade party for the students. Many students were allowed to bring friends outside of the school, which showed many of the Ministry employees missing a night of work to attend with their relatives or significant others. Unknown to them, the Daily Prophet sent their gossip columnist to gather information about the ball and attendees. It seemed there was a normal amount of drama, considering it's Hogwarts, with the drama revolving mostly around the younger teens. Amid the hormones and teenage B.O., I managed to catch some of the professors who had gotten together to organize the party for their pupils. Inés Darami and Andre Le Blanc made time to speak about their job and their event planning. "These kids work very hard on what they do. It seemed like a great idea for them to be able to let go of their responsibilities for a night and enjoy their youth." said Darami in her thick French accent, who teaches Transfiguration. In comparison to the female professor, Le Blanc, who teaches Charms, wore an obnoxiously hilarious outfit. The umber-toned man was dressed as a massive tree. When asked about his wardrobe choice, Le Blanc responded rather positively. "You see, I did not realize that the wearing of costumes was not being encouraged at the party. 'Owever, I am glad that I made such a marvelous costume, because I think it is diverse enough to wear on any given day." Clearly, the man is naive when it comes to fashion. When asked about the best dressed students, Daramis suggested Ariel Wilde, Head Girl and Gryffindor Seventh Year, who wore a floor-length electric blue dress, accompanied with equally elegant shoes and mask. Of course, the Wilde girl's striking looks may have been mostly thanks to her veela blood. After all, when once's related to the Wilde family, it's only logical to be beautiful on the outside. For the male students, Daramis chose Humphrey Williams, a Third Year Ravenclaw, who wore a formal tux with silver accents, as well as a mask of the same metallic color. Lastly, Daramis was asked to choose a professor who she considered the best dressed, and she chose Chloe Gracen, the Astronomy professor, who wore a black floor-length dress with peacock accents. From what Daramis and Le Blanc talked about, it seems Daramis will be the go-to choice when students have fashion concerns. Aside from everything else, it seems the students had a wonderful time, as many of them danced well into the night, and many of them came out as a couple when they had come in as best friends. Many kisses were shared, many hugs were given, and of course, many new friendships occurred. As Le Blanc said, "Th e look on their faces is of course, the best part!!"

Reapers are back, Rufford kidnapped.Published Nov. 10, 2033 By Nate Fuller, Senior Reporter [At the end of this article, you will find a list of the deceased]The first attack was in the Ministry's Atrium. It started with a small group of dark wizards led by the infamous James Morgenstern infiltrating the Ministry's security system. A fight followed, in which many lost their lives trying to protect life as we know it. It is speculated that this attack was mainly led by Wade Malfoy, as it was him that many of the injured innocents described seeing. "He was telling them what to do, who to attack, how to do it." A Ministry worker, who has chosen to keep her identity private, confessed. Although the group was led by Morgenstern, it seems that when he disappeared, Malfoy took the spotlight among the younger Reapers. The second attack was started by a female Reaper, her name still unknown, who is considered to be a very close follower of Morgenstern, in the Auror Department. Many of our Aurors spoke to us about the fight, a traumatizing event for most of the new recruits for sure. "I didn't know what to." Said Molly Stone, an American girl who was just transferred to the British Ministry. "This kind of stuff doesn't happen in the U.S. Or at least it hasn't happened in a while." Senior Aurors Maxwell Bennett and Aisha Khan refused to talk to the Daily Prophet as they are busy trying to deal with the loss of some of the members of their department. The third attack was started by an unknown man, in the Department of Mysteries. There were very few people in the Department at the time, but Mordred Gaunt, the Head of the Department, has refused to speak to the Daily Prophet as well. One of the our reporters was told to keep quiet, therefore not much is known about what happened in the basement. The fourth attack was a private one; between Morgenstern and our Minister. Kellin Malfoy, father of the young Malfoy reaper, assisted Morgenstern in kidnapping the Minister. The two men were seen walking towards Minister Rufford's office, and by the time help arrived, the three of them were gone. Although someone will have to stand in Rufford's place, the Ministry is still deciding on an replacement. Confirmed DeathsLucas Alexander* Ingrid Anderson Beatrice Arnold Lilian Bell* Harvey Bernsten* Ashley Bernal Matthew Benedict* Jordan Cornwell Susan Dupuis Lola Kaiser* Stephen Kilgore* Jeremy King Richard Little* Peter Maddox Wade Malfoy* Julian Martin Nicholas Metz Kevin Myrick Joshua Petrelli* Martin Peltz* Stacy Spriggs Margaret Stone Ash Viera* Nathan Weston *Reapers There are still a few bodies without identification. If your relative is missing, please contact the Ministry so we can figure out if they match one of the deceased.

New Minister AssignedPublished Nov. 12, 2033 By Nate Fuller, Senior Reporter Head of Department of Mysteries, Mordred Gaunt, has been selected as the new Minister. He has refused to speak to us about his new position, but some of the man's known connections have great faith in him, it seems. "Mordred's a great man, I've no doubt that he was chosen because of his character and intelligence." Said Lucy Malfoy, Auror and close family friend of the Gaunts.

Malfoys: Are they back to their old ways?Published Nov. 16, 2033<br />By Agnes Beaumont, Junior Reporter[/img] With a past like that, it makes sense for the rest of Britain to wonder.
History classifies the Malfoy family as pureblood and arrogantly evil. History says the are power-driven. However, as the years passed, it became obvious that they either calmed down, or they disappeared completely, but with the recent attack in the Ministry, the infamous British family name has surfaced again. Wade Malfoy, 24, died in theMinistry's Atrium while fightingfor the dark side.During the Ministry attack the last few days, the elder Malfoy kid, Wade, was identified among the dead. His father was among the Reapers, and his cousin an Auror for the Ministry, whom he fought. In an interview with his remaining relatives, it became clear that the young Reaper was nothing close to evil. Both, Lucy and Ryland Malfoy, describe the young Reaper as open and adventurous. They both say they had a connection that made it hard to be away from each other after graduation, which hints that Wade joined his father after he finished school. However, many reports suggest that Wade was one of the known Reapers to have joined the infamous movement while still a student. Although the younger Malfoys may be wonderful citizens, it is logical to ask if the magic world should be wary of the Malfoys or if they should be trusted. History has a tendency to repeat itself, or so it's said. - Interview:
Agnes Beaumont speaks to Lucy and Ryland Malfoy.
AB: Lucy, you seem to have spent the most time with Wade. How was he, growing up? LM: He was great. He was friendly, open, very adventurous. He was just, normal, I guess.
AB: Did it surprise any of you that Wade decided to follow in his father's footsteps? RM: Not entirely. Kellin had never been around for him, and having his father's approval was something Wade had always wanted. So, no, I wasn't surprised. LM: I was. I don't think I can explain it to you, but I was.
AB: So what do you think when people speak of him? He's been talked about in minor newspapers, mostly because he's connected to the family name. LM: I think it's ridiculous. You're making an interview out of someone's death. My family worked hard to get rid of the label they were given; Ryland's not a Reaper, nor am I a pureblood supremacist. It's sad to know that my brother's family will be looked at differently, that I'll be looked at differently. RM: Yeah, I think that's something that would bother anyone. I mean, I know Beaumont's a pureblood family in France, and I know they're wealthy, but it would be kind of a dick move if I asked why you're working for the Daily Prophet when you should not even be working.
AB: Ryland, you're the youngest Malfoy. How was your relationship with Wade? RM: He was my older brother. Maybe not biologically, but I'm sure Lucy felt the same way about him. We've both always looked at Wade as an extension of ourselves, another part of us. It was always us three at school, sticking together, and when we grew up it was hard to not see him around all the time.
Lucy Malfoy, 23, works for the Ministry, as an Auror. She lives with her boyfriend and niece (Wade's daughter) in London. Ryland Malfoy, 23, owns a restaurant in London. He lives with his wife and son in London." /> | |
