Not Such A Terrifying Place (Open!)

Gryffindor. Anya had been sorted into Gryffindor! She forgot what house CeCe said she was in, but she was sure CeCe would be proud of her for making Gryffindor. She had heard the other students talk badly about Slytherins and Hufflepuffs, so she asked the hat to be put in Gryffindor since it was one of the houses that seemed good.

After the ceremony, she was lead to where she would be sleeping and spending most of her time for the next seven years. The common room is what the older student said it was. They said she would enter the room through the fat lady portrait and have to give a password. She would have to try and remember the password...

The group of Gryffindors all gathered around to hear what the older student had to say. That was nice, but she was distracted. The common room was big! It had couches, and a fireplace, and just really awesome! She never wanted to leave! But she knew that she had to every once in a while to go to class and stuff. She hoped when she got older that Hogwarts wouldn't seem like such a frightening and big place. She would have to write to CeCe later to ask if those feelings went away.

The man was done talking so they were free to go up to the dormitories. She was about to make her way there, when she saw somebody standing off to the side. She said, "Hi! I'm Anya! What's your name?!" This place was scary, but maybe if she made a friend, Hogwarts wouldn't seem like such a terrifying place.

The Sorting ceremony was done. Gryffindor. She guessed her dad would be proud of her, it meant she was brave right? She looked around the red room, there was dozens of students and one was in the middle speaking. Serafina knew she should've been listening but she wasn't.

She was ready to get to bed or write her father or both. She thought about her owl and her luggage. Where was it? Why didn't they let her grab it. Her young owl, the snowy white owl with the slight black marking, they say it had genetic mutations, but Serafina loved him anyways. Gizmo, she'd decided for his name. Gizmo.

Suddenly, the boy was done and everyone was heading to sit by the fire or up to the dormitory and she was standing there, in her daydream. However, she was soon interrupted by a girl her age, who looked enthusiastic about being here. She introduced herself as Anya. "Oh, hi, I'm Serafina." she spoke quietly. So many new people, maybe this girl would actually like her.
