Family: Cecelia is the daughter of Lee Daniels - a pureblood ex-shopkeeper now in Azkaban - and Lizzie Quinn - a muggle doctor - who met each other through a mutual friend. After a short fling, they lost contact. This left Lizzie pregnant with her daughter at nineteen. She did have her mother, Monica, to help her raise the child.
History: Cece was raised mainly by her grandmother, in a small cottage in the countryside. Her mother didn’t seem to hold any affection for her and was almost always training - to become a GP - and then later working instead of spending time with her only daughter. Still, her life was happy enough, and she loved her grandmother more than anyone.
As a young child, her favourite pastime was frolicking in the fields on the farm owned by her next door neighbours. She made a best friend of a kid the same age in that family, Lewis, who was one of the people that kept her sane. At five, she went to school. Her classmates there bullied her for being a freak, mainly because of her interest in nature and animals, as well as her mad hair. It was difficult for her but Cecelia became accustomed to being by herself and got good at ignoring the bullying.
When she was nine, her grandmother died of cancer and since, she hasn’t been the same happy, carefree girl that she was. Her mother continued working long hours, generally leaving her to fend for herself at home. The bullying at school continued. The letter from the strange Hogwarts place arrived and she was incredibly relieved to get away from her desolate, unbearable home to go to this weird and wonderful place.
Hogwarts was slightly better. After being sorted into Slytherin and settling in, she made a few friends who didn’t mind her being a nature freak. Life was pretty good and she enjoyed herself. Lessons, however, were a different story. Cece had decided that she didn’t need to put any effort in and she didn’t care at all about doing well at school, with the exceptions of Herbology and COMC, which she always completely loved.
Her contact with her mother at school was minimal. That was why, when she received a letter from her father who had tracked her down, she was almost relieved. She met him for the first time during the summer before her third-year. Shortly afterwards, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to lifetime imprisonment in Azkaban. Since then, she has visited twice, but hasn’t been able to handle the prison any more than that. She plans on visiting again as soon as she can work up the courage as she does care for her father, even though she was never given the opportunity to get to know him better.
She decided that she’d had enough of the stress, hard work and infuriating professors by fifth-year. In the summer, at the end of her first OWL (Herbology), she walked out of the gates, to Hogsmeade, where she took a train to London. Technically, she has one qualification, but she is hesitant about trying to get training for a real job. Cece has been living in a small, cheap, grotty apartment and stealing from muggle and wizard shops alike to get enough money to survive.
Appearance: Cece is constantly messing around with and changing her hair, but it always stays big and as messy as a bird’s nest. It often has colourful streaks, random plaits and little clips scattered absolutely everywhere. Her trademark blonde dreadlocks probably define her. She has grey eyes and fairly cute looking facial features overall, even though she is anything but cute. Her build is small and petite and she weighs very little. In the morning, she usually grabs a pile of stuff from her closet and puts it all on. Her style is alternative - on a normal day, she would be wearing a long patterned skirt, random leggings, a flowery t-shirt, some jacket, heavy doc martin books and have various scarves or ties wrapped around her head. And she doesn’t take shit from people who don’t like how she looks.
Personality: She’s quite good at dealing with people who don’t care for her, or who she doesn’t care for. That’s not to say she is sensitive and diplomatic, but she is a big believer in “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” because if the involved person doesn’t mean anything to her, she has become used to ignoring the words. If that makes sense. Cecelia is straight-forward, creative and quick to stand up for what she believes in.
Even though she has learnt to care less about what other people think, she has her weak spots, mainly her father, and if the person could get a dig in with one of those, she would react very differently. She will probably either break down and cry or get very angry and try and kill the person with only her fists. Fortunately that doesn’t happen very often. Often, she lacks the motivation to get up and do something, let alone make something of her life, and would much rather stay in bed for another few hours. She certainly isn’t at all sensitive and kind and doesn’t hold a very high regard for other people’s feelings.
Cece loves nature, animals and her father. She also likes cake, sleeping, her bed, camping, frolicking outside, messing with her hair, partying and drinking (because she totally cares that she isn’t 18 yet). She dislikes when people can’t understand that her name is pronounced “See-see”, obnoxious people, her mother, laws, having to steal, people who trash the environment and those who judge her for her clothes and appearance. She fears being caught shoplifting and being put in prison like her father, as well as small children.
