Some Time Alone (OPEN)

A dark cloak wrapped around her as she stood in the setting sun staring out over the lake. The snow turned to liquid under her heavy boots. It was Christmas and this year she'd be staying at Hogwarts alone. Her sister had a baby and husband now and never even bothered to talk to her anymore, and her mother, she didn't know anymore.

The wind chilled her face and she hugged the cloak tighter. What if she went to the dark side? Would people care as much as they did about Ella? It was bad enough that no one seemed to care that she was clinically depressed and thought about offing herself every waking moment. She hadn't been to classes in ages and Firewhiskey was her saviour.

She thought about the past few years, it seemed like since the age of 9, her life became a rollercoaster that only went down. What happened when she got as low as she could go? She had no friends, family, she looked for love in all the wrong places, her cat no longer comforted her. Maybe she would take up diary writing again. Her thoughts wandered endlessly, drowning her in her own mind. They drug her down like anchors and cast her into the deep.
