| Subject: Danielle Barigazzi Professor App Thu Dec 05, 2013 3:47 am | |
| Your Full Name: Danielle Barigazzi
School where you graduated (Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, ...): Hogwarts
Subject you are applying for: Divination
Why do you want to become a professor? Danielle has always loved learning and teaching. She loves Hogwarts and wants to return to teach. She also finds teaching very rewarding. I also would find it interesting in RPing an adult rather than a student.
Why you have chosen this subject? I have chosen this subject because it has been vacant for awhile and Divination is very interesting. I know from first hand experience that waiting for a class because there is no Professor is really irritating.
Have you applied for any professions yet? No I have not.
Will you be able to post 1 to 2 lessons/month minimum? Yes I will be able to. I got on the website at least once a day to check whats happening and always respond to the threads I am involved in and follow. Do you have any previous experience in this field? I don't other than taking the class in my third year but I will be researching/looking up topics to teach and I will be fully committed to this position.
Role Playing Example(minimum 350 words ; Describe teaching your first class)
Danielle stood nervously near the board while the students filled into her classroom. As the students were seated she spoke up. “Hello class. My name is Professor Barigazzi but you can call me Professor or Professor B if my name is too hard to pronounce. I just want to give a brief introduction about myself and then we’ll dive into Divination: The Magic of foreseeing future events! So lets get started on me. Just kidding. I graduated Hogwarts a while ago and I was a Ravenclaw. Before I started here, I taught at a school in Rome, Italy. I’m half Italian and I visit frequently so I will probably utter random Italian words every so often. I taught Charms there but I am equally proficient in Divination. I expect good behavior and respect. And in turn I will give you respect. There will be homework after each lesson and then a final exam at the end of term. Danielle walked around and passed the class syllabus and expectations sheet while reading it a loud. “This class is Divination so if you are in the wrong classroom, you can show yourself out. My office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from before classes start in the morning till dinner. There will be required materials for this class. They include: your own wand, quills, parchment, and ink. The rules are to show up on time. I rather like attendance and punctuality. If you are late and do not have a valid excuse, I will be forced to take points. Also behave appropriately and raise your hand. In this class you will develop a basic foundation of Divination and then as you go up a year, will be more advanced. You will be asked to apply your knowledge in lessons also. The first topic we will cover will be Tessomancy. Can anyone give me answer to what that practice is?” Danielle asked. She gave the students a minute to answer and she saw no hands. “Okay. The method of Tessomancy is reading tea leaves.” She answered. After seeing that everyone had the syllabus she went to the board, “So since I promised before, we will now jump into the subject. Now please take some notes.” She said. Danielle heard rustling of the parchment and began to write on the board. Tessomancy: The art of reading tea leaves to predict events in the future. Leaf Symbols: Acorn: windfall, unexpected gold Club: an attack Cross: trials and suffering Falcon: a deadly enemy The Grim: death Skull: danger in your path Sun: great happiness Tessomancy derives from the French word for teacup “tasse” and Greek suffixes, “graph”, “-logy”, and “mancy”. While writing she also said the information. When Danielle turned around she saw the students writing down the presented information. She smiled. So far the class was a success! |
