BACKGROUND

Family background and description (Not too detailed but do not make it short): Ryland's parents were muggles, so to have received a letter from Hogwarts was a huge surprise. His mother died in childbirth, so he's never met her. His father was killed by accident when Ryland was only 4 and ever since he's been living in a French orphanage for boys where he was treated badly by the other children.
Personal history (what happened to your character until his current age, at least a paragraph about this, also this section requires to be constantly updated):
When he first received his Hogwarts letter, he couldn't control his feelings so he accidentally set part of his room on fire, much to the dismay of the Orphanage director and the other boys. That same night, he fled the orphanage and found his way to London, where he met a very charismatic woman who claimed to be Hogwart's headmistress. Given the Ryland had grown used to thinking the worst of people, he didn't believe her until she actually took out her wand out and turned a part of the grass into rock, then turned into grass again.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

Physical Appearance (what your character looks like: this will help others visualize him or her while role-playing): He's got dark curly hair that never really settles down. His eyes are a forest green shade, a defined jawline, a slightly pointy nose and is very tall for a boy his age. He's slender and not very big in muscle. He doesn't really have any special features that make him stand out in a crowd.
Personality (strengths, weaknesses, traits, flaws, interests, what does he or she love? hate? write a bit about each)
Ryland is very shy when it comes to girls as he's spent most of his life with boys so he tries to stay away from them. He's a very lonely child, often preferring to spend his free time writing or wandering off by himself. His temper is the worst. When he's angry, you'll know. Towards other boys, he's very cautious and mean even. He's not used to people being nice to him and it takes him a long time to like someone. His weakness would be his pride. His strength would be his courage and curiosity.
