| Oddmund was disappointed when he learned about the ban on advanced Dark Arts classes. It was a part of the Durmstrang culture and traditions. Oddmund's father studied the Dark Arts here, and his parents as well, and probably their parents, or at least some of them. Reading about some dark magic would also probably give Oddmund inspiration for some villains and schemes in his books. To somehow solve the problem, Oddmund decided to keep learning Dark Arts secretly, and since professors weren't be able to teach him anymore, he had to rely on help from older students, who had advanced Dark Arts classes before the ban. But Oddmund didn't only care about himself, he thought everyone deserved a chance to get some knowledge, even if society considered it toxic. And the best way to gather people who wouldn't mind teaching and learning some good old magic was, in Oddmund's opinion, to organize a meeting of people who wanted to know about Norwegian traditions. Well, it wouldn't be even a lie: dark magic had always been taught in Norway on the most advanced levels. He just needed to be cautious and talk about Dark Arts only with people who he was sure he could trust, so the first several meeting were meant for filtering wrong people and getting to know right ones. This might be a good start for some school-wide network of secret tutoring. Moreover, teachers probably wouldn't pay much attention to these meetings, since Norwegian culture club sounded anything but suspicious, considering how many nationalities were there at Durmstrang. So Oddmund came to the bulletin board and attached the parchment. - Oddmund wrote:
- Brothers!
If you are interested in Norwegian culture and want to learn something new about it or teach your fellow comrades, you will be the most welcome it the Northern Tower room for sky observations on the 17th of September one and a half hours before the curfew.
I guarantee that it would be interesting even if you're not really into the Norwegian culture. Older students are especially welcome. Oddmund looked at his parchment one more time and drew a viking with an axe in one hand and a magical wand, that were typical for fairies in children's books, in the other.
