| Getting a job and in turn trying to get her life on track was taking a big, big step for Cece. Having spent the last few years wandering around England, stealing money, building snowmen, lying in until the afternoon on most days, this was going to be a big change. Hopefully a positive one, and one which would actually help her life. Despite knowing she had a lot to learn about medicine and healing, and that she would have to get up earlier than three pm, she also realised that there were advantages to taking the job. The main one was that she would be able to see Anya much more often, and stop being a shit big sister. She also got pretty good money. And free accommodation and food. And the joy of helping the sick and injured children of Hogwarts. Plus being able to learn more about healing and maybe eventually get a more senior position somewhere else, perhaps St Mungo's or something. So she was pretty certain it was worth dealing with the disadvantages. Even her screw up criminal father completely supported this decision, so she was feeling quite optimistic in the days leading up to her start at the school. Early in the morning, she'd gotten the train to Hogsmeade and walked up the way to the castle, her heavy trunk hovering behind her. She thought it started well, since the headmaster seemed alright when she met him briefly upon her arrival. After that, she left her stuff in her cool new chambers and managed to navigate her way to the hospital wing. She still vaguely remembered the halls of Hogwarts after all, it seemed. She planned to try and find Anya later, but for now she needed to go and actually do her job. It was a nice room, she decided when she arrived, very pretty. She could picture herself working here. It really did seem like the ideal job, if there was an ideal job for a lazy, never before employed person who liked sleeping and had an interest in Herbology like her. She was hoping it wouldn't be too difficult, though. Then again, she didn't want it to be mundane and simple either. She did enjoy a challenge every now and then. She realised after a moment that she had been standing, just staring at the room, for a while now, and she better go and find this Logan Stark bloke. Seeing an office sort of place off the main bit of the room, she went and knocked on the door, but didn't wait to push it and walk through. Sure enough, the man behind the desk looked like he could be a Logan. "Hey... uh, Mr Stark?" she began, a little nervously. "I don't know if Headmaster Gray mentioned me? I'm the new assistant." Usually, Cece was the type to completely radiate confidence and an air of not giving shit, but today she felt strangely small. And for the first time in maybe forever, she felt nervous and unconfident about starting the job. Her earlier feeling of optimism had apparently disappeared. She tried to hide the worry and smile, because if she was going to be working with Logan Stark, then she wanted to make a good impression. - heyyyy:
I godmodded Owen a bit because I figured it would fit if she met him when she arrived? I can change it if you want Also it's not the longest post because I don't want to have to write long posts

| It had been a couple of weeks since Logan learned that Owen had hired a healer assistant. Logan was feeling pretty all right with that, considering the amount of work this school did give him with everything from the flu to Quidditch injuries to the Whomping Willow. It had been sad to see Camilla leave, and it had been hard without her. So the fact that work would soon allow him to take a few more breaks was not something Logan had any intention to complain about. However, this was a person Logan would be working closely with, and he had wished that he'd gotten to meet her before it had been decided. Then again, Owen had promised him that if the two of them didn't manage to cooperate well enough, this would be dealt with in a good manner.
So when the day came that his assistant would be joining him, Logan did his best to make the infirmary look better than ever. Luckily, there wasn't any injured or sick in the room, and he put everything in order, exactly how he wanted it to look like, just so she'd get a good impression and the air of a good working environment. After all, Logan wanted his assistant to feel as home here and welcome as he did. He waited for a bit, looking around the room to make sure everything was in order, before he finally decided he couldn't just stand around either. He wasn't sure when she'd arrive, other than that it would be soon. So he decided to wait in his office. He didn't completely shut the door, because a closed door was a closed door...
And then the knock came. Logan almost felt nervous as the door swung open, but was very surprised when he saw the girl standing there. She did sound more nervous than he felt, which he wasn't very surprised by. After all this was a new place for her. He put a smile on his face and rose from the chair, walking around his desk. "Hello, Ms. Daniels, welcome," he said, extending a hand. And then he blinked. He had seen this woman before. He almost laughed in relief as he recognized her. It was the woman from Diagon Alley, the one who'd pretended to be a tree to see if they'd feel comfortable in the busy street. "I met you in Diagon Alley," he said, feeling a tad confused and also found it rather funny. "I don't know if you remember that, though. It's quite a while ago," he said with a shrug. He estimated it'd be around two-three years ago. Wow, he really was good at remembering faces. |
