| To put all of it simply, Ridley was hungry. As in, the my-stomache-is-growling-and-probably-trying-to-digest-itself type of hungry. Really, she was sure she could die of hunger and she wouldn't even make it to her second-year. Conroy would be ecstatic. Okay, so maybe those last few thoughts were a little too dramatic, but even so, Ridley was begining to see why missing dinner last night to go read her Potions school book was a bad idea. At least Matthew had tried to help her get the stuff.
Since she didn't have any early classes, Ridley snuck out out of her dorm rooms immediately after she'd decided this hunger was endangering her young life. She was way too impatient to wait around for breakfast, so she climbed all the stairs up from the dungeons to the kitchens, already thinking about the glorious food. (How she managed not to get lost on the way with all those freaky stairways is beyond her.)
When she'd finally arrived right outside of the kitchens, Ridley looked around for something that would get her in. Since her dad had more or less told her every cheatcode he might've known about Hogwarts ever, Rid was informed that there was supposedly a picture of fruit that she had to tickle in order to get in. As she spotted it (yuck, such obnoxious colours), Ridley decided that Hogwarts' security system wasn't really improving since they had the same passcode during the decades. Ridley couldn't really remember which frui to tickle, so she set for all of them, starting with the apple. It didn't do anything, so she continued with the banana and then the pear, which, thankfully, turned into a doorknob. She twisted it and snuck in.
There were one or two elves there already, but they didn't say anything when they saw her, so Ridley supposed it was fine. She glanced at the four tables in the center of the room, but since they looked disturbingly alike to the ones in the Great Hall, she decided not to bother them. She looked around some more, spotting mashed potatoes in a bowl on one of the shelves. Oh, food. Finally. | |
