Afternoon delight (Deirdre)

Victoria sat on an empty counter in the kitchen and smelled her freshly brewed cup of coffee. It smelled like heaven and tasted even better. But she refused to make her coffee without the original Brazilian blend she used to drink at home. So after a few letters of annoying her mother to send her some, she finally got a large package of it in the mail today. Most people in England seemed to prefer tea, but she was already so accustomed to drinking coffee that she stayed with it. Making coffees for everyone in the morning was a tradition in her house, one which she enjoyed very much.

It was late and the house elves were done for the day and already gone, which meant she had the whole kitchen to herself. She kicked her feet in the air with delight as she took another sip of her coffee. Looking across the kitchen, she saw a large plate filled with sweets and chocolate sitting on the edge of a counter. Knowing that she wasn't exactly supposed to steal food from the kitchen, especially at this hour, Victoria looked left and right to make sure that no one was there before taking a few bites.

Deirdre walked towards the kitchens, rubbing her forehead as she did in hope the pain would ease. It was already particularly late, but the girl had been doing homework up to now, resulting in a headache and strong urge to sleep. However, she still needed to write an essay for Charms class, which was why she going to the kitchen in the first place - she wanted to make herself some strong tea, the way her mother always did. She'd done that before, it helped her concentrate.

As she pushed the doors open, Deirdre expected to see no one there. The house elves were always done with their work at that time and were usually already gone on the rare occasions when she would come, so she was used to the emptiness. Although that, today, as she entered and looked left and right, she spotted another girl, younger than herself. The spotted girl was currently taking some treats from a plate and eating them, probably thinking no one was there, but her. Deirdre said in an even tone, as she neared the counters where the elves put the herbs for making tea," Hello there."

Enjoying the treats that were in front of her fully, Victoria didn't really pay attention to what was happening around her. She didn't even hear a girl walking into the kitchen until a voice interrupted her meat. She flinched and turned her head around in a matter of seconds, hoping that it wasn't a grumpy professor about to give her a week worth of detention. But when she focused on the person in front of her, she saw that it was a Hufflepuff girl a bit older than her. Completely relieved to see her and not a professor, Victoria smiled.

"Oh hi. Sorry, I thought you were someone from the staff", she apologized for her surprised look at the beginning. She took a sip of her coffee and motioned for the girl to come over with her hand. "Would you like some?", she asked pointing at the basket of cake and treats in front of her. "And if you're a coffee lover? I have a large bag of Brazilian roast", she offered. "Oh I'm Victoria. Victoria Campero", she introduced herself, still munching on a small piece of her favorite chocolate treat. If there was something she couldn't resist, it was chocolate in all of it's forms.

Deirdre let out a small chuckle when the girl turned around startled, but was then relieved to see that the Hufflepuff was indeed no professor about to give her detention. She smiled and waited for the girl to say something, noting that she was slightly younger than her and a Ravenclaw -Deirdre could easily determine that from her robes. She moved to make herself that tea as she waited.

The girl soon spoke and offered Deirdre some of the goods on the plate she was attacking before the Hufflepuff had entered. Deirdre smiled and took a cookie from it, thanking the girl quietly. "And if you're a coffee lover? I have a large bag of Brazilian roast", the Ravenclaw said. Deirdre shook her head politely," Oh, no, thank you. I'm a traditional British, so I'll just have some tea." 

The girl introduced herself with a grin, apparently, her name was Victoria." Nice to meet you", Deirdre said, taking out the herbs she'd prepared for the tea," I'm Deirdre Seamore. How do you like Hogwarts so far?"
