| Common Conduct 1. Be respectful to the people role playing on this side of the forum and generally all other areas; Exceptions count if say your character acts like so IC, but points will still be deducted/detention handed out as if playing IC all the same. 2. As of canon, first-years will only be involved within the Flying lessons, unless the probability of failing the test first time around has affected you, you can then apply to re-join classes in your second year and try again. If you fail second time around however, this will be noted upon your OWL as a T (Troll) and not be permitted to re-test unless under extreme circumstances governing the opinion of your head of house. (If you are third-year, I can offer optional classes [failed or not] which will involve mostly Quidditch practice, also involving the players from each house team as a practical for both sides.) 3. If you've applied late (eg. Mid-lesson), just join in as if you've been there all along, if but a little quiet through the whole thing (Perhaps you had to see the healer, you think of the possibilities regarding this fact). Or if the lesson has finished and you still want to involve yourself, read through the role play and hand in your homework ready for marking for the next lesson to be posted.
Explanation of the Lessons/Grading Through the curriculum, I will aim to teach (Percentages apply to final mark [OWL Exam is 30%]; also the number of marks awarded to both practical and written assessments); -Basic and advanced broom control; summoning from the ground to calling from a distance/Flying skills. (20%) -History of transportation - from first magically explained vanishing to the modern broom/dissapperating/apperating. (Including updated information from the MoM's representative to explain their involvement with such matters). (20%) -Past and present brooms, as of the time in teaching; (10%) -Quidditch; Theory and practical. (20%) -Optional advanced skills in flying the broom for aid with either people wishing to improve or falling behind. There will be written and practicals for most sessions, so there is a part everyone will enjoy. (Note: If you do not join in with both elements of a section in the criteria, this will be seen as ill-practice and detention will be set to correct that. [OOC, I'll excuse if you're busy and/or give in homework if you can] Otherwise, marks will be deducted from each section towards your final grading). Final Exam (30%) Is what you have learned condensed into a questionnaire with multiple choice answers. Then a practical involving Quidditch skills picked up in the theory and practices you have attended. If you have gained enough marks (82/100 points) you will have passed your OWL and proceed to have the option of immediately dropping the class for the next year or continuing for another two terms for further learning and reference. If you have failed, you will have to re-take the year again to have a chance at passing or receive a T (Troll) upon your final mark for future reference in your grades. |
