I hate studying (Saryana)

Danny sat in his common room and stared at the fire in front of him. He was studying up for his Transfiguration test and couldnt stay focused. He groaned and slammed the book shut and just flopped back on to the couch, "I give up." He said and covered his eyes with his arms and just stayed there. he groaned and threw the book across the room and watched it fly through the air. Why were his classes so hard this year. It was as if he couldnt do any of the lessons, the homework was next to impossible for him to do, and the essays, dont even get him started on those.

He heard the common room portrait door open and just ignored it. He doubted it was anyone he cared about anyway. He just stayed lying down with his arm over his eyes so he couldnt even see who it was that had entered. He heard the shuffling of feet as a bunch of students entered the common room, returning from dinner which he had skipped to study. He regretted that now as his stomach began to growl violently. He tried his best to ignore it, but the pain was too much to be ignored.

Saryana wasn't very happy. She had taken one of the books yesterday and had planned on finishing it the next day, late evening. Instead she had to finish it earlier! And that couldn't happen... And she refused to start a new one, as she would hardly be able to start it and would likely have to read it again. It was awful... Now she had to return to the common room earlier from before. In fact, it was during the time everyone else returned from the Great Hall. Sighing, she tried to ignore any groups, taking stairs without people on them, even if it extended her travel.

After a while she did arrive in the common room. Entering she saw something awful! At a wall, there was a book planted on the floor. She frowned at the poor thing and picked it up to see the name. Maybe later she could put it on the notice board and have people read just what he did. Yes, that did sound like a good plan. Opening, she read the name Danny Sinclair. And she groaned. Days ago she would have wondered who the hell he was. But a few days ago he accidentally sat next to her in Defence Against the Dark Arts. And that meant remembering who he was. Oh brother...

Examining around, she looked around for him, guessing he'd be in here after all. The girl recognised his figure, lying down on the couch with his arm hanging from his face. It was a rather funny image, had it not been the situation. Sighing, she walked over to him. "Just to let you know, throwing books across a room doesn't really help stress. " she said with a slight smirk and put the book carefully on the table.

Danny opened his eyes and moved his arm at the sound of a voice. He smirked at Saryana and chuckled, "Actually, you willll be shocked to know it did in fact help a little bit. It got a bit of my anger at Transfiguration out and it gave my arm a nice stretch and work out." He smiled and sat up taking the book back from her. "How are you, Miss Greenwood?" He asked softly, afraid to speak to loud or say the wrong thing and get yelled at by her. He already had a head ache and did not want to get yelled at any more that day.

He looked around and saw all the other students had gone already. He was tempted to ask her a few questions about the last few years, but he did not know how to start the conversation off. "So... um..." he said a bit nervously. Well more than a bit. He was extremely nervous. He used to have a giant crush on Saryana, and he was not sure how he felt anymore. He looked at her and bit his lower lip softly, "How have you been. I have not really spoken to you much since first year."

Saryana rolled her eyes and chuckled slightly. "And what did Transfiguration do to you?" She said before sitting down against him. To say all this was awkward was, well, an understatement. She was surprised at her decision, more or less, to come and talk to him. Expecially considering she had gotten mad at him last time they met and then she just forgot him for four years. But that was what happened when you don't talk to people often - you forget them.

"How am I? Rather annoyed, I finished a book earlier from planned and have nothing to do but sulk around on that fact." She shrugged, as if it wasn't a big deal. Though it definitely was. How could she read so fast... It ruined everything! What was she to do, start a new book? No... Ugh, if she hadn't read so quickly, she wouldn't have been here earlier, wouldn't have seen the book and wouldn't have to talk to him. New plan - when reading a page, read it again. That should do the trick!

She was distracted from her train of thoughts by rather nervous looking Danny. She got that he was nervous from the way he talked, all boys talk nervously like that in her books and probably in real life too. Though boys did turn out to be a huge mystery in the end, they make no sense! Though, girls didn't either. Sometimes Saryana could swear she was an alien from planet Blah blah, came here to learn magic. "Yeah, we hadn't, had we... I was alright, I mostly read in my time, when I'm not in class. I swear that the librarian would almost ban me to come to the library, literally every day she nags at me to socialise..." she shook her head. "How about you?"

Danny listened to Sarayana and noticed she stopped talking for a bit. She seemed to be deep in thought so he just studied her. Her perfect brown hair and her pretty brown eyes. The way they sparkled in the lighting of the common room and of the fire place near by. Her soft looking pink lips that he sometimes just wanted to kiss. Especially when she started babbling. He had seen that in a movie once before. The boy kissed the girl to get her to stop talking. It was rather cute in Dannys opinion.

He smiled softly and just stared at her for a little bit until she started talking again. Her voice brought him back to reality and he nodded, "Sounds like alot of fun. Ive been on the quidditch pitch mostly. Ive also been visiting my brother alot. Hes considering taking over as the flying professor here, But I dont know for sure." He shrugged and just looked at her. He wished he had more to say, but he was extremely nervous. He was surprised that he was saying this much so far. He smiled softly, "So youre good at transfiguration right?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck

Saryana nodded. "Flying professor? Nice! Though I probably wouldn't take apart in it... Like I said, I'm using any time I can to study!" She said, smiling slightly. "Sorry, I think I should say..." The girl told him, awkwardly. Why don't books tell her how to tell your friend (are they even friends) who you got mad with that you may not go to their brothers class... It was totally bizarre! Fictional character's don't have such problems... She really needed to find a book that explains such stuff. There is bound to be at least one in the library, it contained literally every kind of topic!

At the next question he asked, she chuckled slightly. "Yeah. Transfiguration, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Potions... I'm pretty much a walking encyclopedia for that. Sometimes the librarian says that I can just take my O.W.L. tests now and ace them but I doubt I'm that good.." she chuckled again at that and shuffled through the book. "What do you have a problem with?"

She then noticed how he rubbed his neck. It reminded her of Nick. He always did that. She bit her lip slightly at the thought of him. She hated him! Though he claimed to be 'sorry', she was almost sure he just wants to get her into fighting again. No way! She won't do that! Now she was definitely calmer from before. And there was no way he was sorry. He literally made her a laughing stock at her town and she couldn't believe him for that. Though there was no problem with the adults, the kids didn't talk to her at all. Well, sucks for them! Idiots, the whole lot...

Danny couldnt help but chuckle at her awkwardness just then, "Sary, its ok. I know what you mean. The only reason I am attending is because hes my brother. Well, and I love to fly." He said a bit softly blushing a soft shade of pink. He watched her think and it fascinated him. The way her nose wrinkled when she was deep in thought and her eye brows twitched a bit as well. He loved it. 

He listened to her talk and smiled at how excited she got when it came to classes. He was pretty sure the Sorting Hat sorted her wrong and she should be in Ravenclaw, but hey, who was he to judge a hat that had been around for centuries. He blushed a bit more, "This whole turning a button into a bunny nonsense we did in class. Its kind of hard for me." He said clearing his throat nervously. 

Danny noticed she seemed to be drifting once again from their conversation. He waited patiently for her to return her attention to him and just studied her face and her features again. She seemed to have a light tiny splash of freckles on her cheek not noticeable unless you really tried to see them

Saryana sighed gladly at that. "Well, good!" She stated, having nothing more left to say. You can't really blame her, can you, it's not an every day kind of conversation. And even in those kinds the girl would probably blow up, the library didn't give place for a lot of human interactions, so she slowly seemed to lose the ability to socialise, even though she was sure she gained enough knowledge from all the books she had read! Yep, that's her life in one long sentence.

At first Saryana was rather confused at the name bunny. That wasn't a word she read in any book and she would remember if the teacher said something about it. Afterwards did she remember that a bunny was the weird way of saying a rabbit. Why, she never understood. The girl preferred to call it a rabbit, bunny sounded too... cuddley. Not that that was a word. However, now it was time to help him study, so she became serious.

"Hmm... First thing you should change is your attitude. I mean, calling the spell 'nonsense' definitely won't help you. Either do it seriously or don't do it at all." It was true, honestly. Once she took an old 'How to Spell' nook and that was what it explained. If you took it as a game, so would the wand and it wouldn't want to work for a game, after all.

"Secondly, I guess you can still do other transfigurations, right? Instead of seeing this as a harder challenge, see it as a different shade of what you've already done. You'll see it actually works, your grip will be more firm and overall you will be more confident" For Saryana this was more of an addition to the first rule rather than a new one but only she would be able to see those very invisible lines.

"Lastly is practice. And more practice. Saying that it makes perfection isn't an understatement, you find it easier to preform the spell each time, plus it's a good start for the next one as well." She only gave a slight nod, more to herself. Then she wondered if he actually was understanding what she was saying. Hopefully so. "Well, will you do it now or rather try later? I can easily find a button, don't worry for that part."
