Always remembering to write to her family was still something Aoife struggled with, even after all these years at Hogwarts. This year, though, she was determined that it would be different, despite her lack of certainty that her parents even cared about her writing letters anymore. They rarely complained when she forgot. No, surely they loved her too much to not care about her letters. Anyway, the point was, this year was the year of being organised. So although she'd only just returned to school, she already had a long, neat letter composed for her parents, and even a shorter, messier one for her brother Tag. Now all she needed to do was get them sent, which required a quick trip up to the owlery. It was no problem, but she didn't get time that day until just before dinner. And since she was hungry, and wanted to get to dinner on time, she was in a bit of a rush.

As she hurried out of the castle and across the grounds to the owlery tower, she reread the letters, feeling quite proud of them, other than the couple of spelling mistakes in one, and several mistakes in the other. Tag wouldn't care, though. He was practically illiterate. Goodness knew how he was some sort of manager in a shop at home. It was quite unbelievable. Her family were awesome. She was going to miss them after she left school. The plan wasn't to return to Ireland to live and work, but to do a bit of travelling before returning to London. Although she guessed that now she could apparate, she could visit home as often as she wanted. Magic was amazing, sometimes. And Aoife could use all the magic she wanted now that she was seventeen and an actual legal adult, with a supercool apparation license.

It only took her a few minutes for her to get there, and then a further couple of seconds to climb the stairs up to the top of the tower. Hogwarts was full of stairs, it still sucked. There was only one person already in the room when she got there. Aoife leaned around to see the girl's face in case it was someone she knew, and indeed it was. "Saryana!" she greeted enthusiastically. That was the girl's name, right? She was always meeting new people, and it was quite difficult to remember them all, especially when so many younger students looked exactly the same to her these days. "How are you?"

Saryana had to go write a letter for her parents. They were pretty paranoid when it came to her and her own safety, so they always wanted her to send something as soon as she had arrived. Which was annoying, in the girl's mind. Why couldn't try test her enough? It wasn't like the train was going to fall over of something! It just wouldn't! And the Wizarding World wasn't under any danger besides some Magical Creatures that could go bizarre. Unbelievable...

She had taken a piece of parchment and a quill to the Owlery. She didn't want at all to waste to much time on this letter - there was books to read, lessons to learn, people to ignore... Well, she didn't ignore people, they ignored her. Not that she really cared anymore. Well, partly she was confused because she thought of herself as a cool person to hang with. She was pretty confused when Anya, her roommate, seemed to ignore her. It did suck. And there was her muggle friend Nick with whom she was mad at. Well, he was mad at her and Saryana got angry at him for that. Fun stuff.

She had began to write her letter. It wasn't going to be something big, just a few sentences to probe she is alive. Which was enough. Just as she had began to write down her name, someone yelled her name. The girl seemed to know the voice... Well, of course she would, how would the voice know her otherwise? She turned around to see who it was. Oh, the red head she had meet and showed her the awesome world of Butter Beer! How was her name? "Hi, Aoife!" She said, hoping it was such. It was a slightly unusual name, after all. But not as much as hers, the most bizarre name in the world. "I'm good! What about you?" She said and looked at the two parchments Aoife was holding. "Sending something? " she asked, after which she noticed what a foolish question that was.
