READ FIRST:

Finally, for the first time in ages, everything seemed to be going right! Finally, maybe for the first time since the day that Jack had died, he'd managed to reach a point of acceptance. Real, true acceptance. That didn't mean that he wasn't still grieving. But it meant that, all of a sudden, it was like he could feel his brother in his life again. When Ariel had lost her father, wasn't it Hunter who had told her that just because he was gone didn't mean he wasn't still with her? Why had he been refusing to accept his own words for so long? He'd spent so long forcing memories and thoughts and feelings out. And even though he'd come to terms with it, to a point, this year, he was still closed. Bitter. Angry. It wasn't until he'd learned about Agnes' pregnancy that he'd finally - through a one sided shouting match - let Jack back into his life. He'd been an idiot to force him out - because Hunter needed Jack. Even if that meant thinking about him figuratively watching him from above, or finding coincidental symbolism in every day things. Or just remembering him. Hunter needed Jack.

And it was amazing, the weight that had been lifted from his chest along with that acceptance. How his bitterness toward the world faded not altogether, but enough. And then, Agnes had revealed that the baby wasn't his, and suddenly all of his concerns were fixed - completely reversed. Though, he'd never felt so badly for anyone as he did for Agnes, and he'd help her as much as he could, his fault or not. Because it just as easily could have been his fault, and she deserved help from someone. But the point was that, as Hunter made his way to the New Years Eve party in the great hall, his entire life finally felt as though it made complete sense.

He'd obviously made Aoife go with him, telling her that it would count as one of their agreed number of dates. He still hadn't gotten any farther with her than the day she agreed to date him, but he did feel like he was figuring her out. At least a bit. When he talked about anything upsetting or sad, she got quiet and didn't say anything. When he talked about anything deep or intellectual, she got bored. If he treated her like a girl, or told her she was pretty, or overstepped his boundaries, she just turned red and got really uncomfortable. So, as it turned out, the only way to get anything out of Aoife O'Donnell was to be generally happy and excited all of the time. Which, for once, wasn't a problem! Because Hunter was probably in the best mood he'd been in in a long time, and between that and the excitement of the party and the firewhiskey and the new year, he was more upbeat than usual.

After what felt like no time at all, Hunter was grinning and dragging Aoife outside with the rest of the school to watch the fireworks and wait for the clock to strike twelve. "Come on, you don't want to miss them!" he urged her, pulling her along not-so-gently, until finally they made it into the courtyard. Of course, they still had ten minutes or so. But magical fireworks were too awesome to even think about missing! Spotting their friends - Ariel, Blake, Victoria, Victoria's secret admirer, a few others - who had already found a place to stand, Hunter weaved through the crowd toward them with Aoife in tow. "Hey," he greeted them happily, finally releasing Aoife's hand. "Not a bad party, huh?"

Phin had officially lost it. He rarely showed up for class after hearing the devastating news that Aoife and Hunter were officially an item. In fact, when he heard the news, he went straight to the toilet and threw up the pizza rolls that he had stolen from Chad. But that could've also been the after affect of the Firewhiskey he had also taken. Phin didn't know how Chad could stomach the two of them together. But he was bored one night and wanted to drink his sorrows away, and then he wanted to do it every night after that. Was it normal for a fourteen year old to drink this much? Probably not. But who gave a fuck at what he did? Obviously not Aoife, or Chad. Which was why when he heard that their was a New Years Party, he decided he would go. But not for fun. He hadn't actually seen Aoife and Hunter together. He had avoided the parts of the castle he knew they would be in. He didn't go to he Great Hall for meals, and ate Chad's Pizza rolls instead. And if he ever got bored of the pizza rolls, he would just go to the kitchens, which he was lucky enough for his common room to be right next too.

He took one last swig of the stuff, and put it on his bed. At this point he didn't care if he got caught or not. He just wanted to see it for himself. Where they really together? Or was she just using him to make him jealous? Yes, he would say that to make him feel better about it. He couldn't bare the thought of him having his arms around her and holding her like that. The thought of it made him want to vomit the contents of his stomach up. And that didn't have anything to do with the alcohol and pizza rolls. Walking down to the Great Hall would be a struggle in his state. He hadn't thought the situation through all the way. Walking down the stairs over to the Great Hall drunk. He didn't even know if he could hide it from he Professors, or Chad who might be chaperoning the dance. He really didn't think this through. But he wanted to see it for himself. Because there was absolutely know way that she was with him willingly. Maybe he was threatening her. Would Aoife come to him if that were the case? He didn't know. They weren't really good friends now that this term had started.

He didn't even attempt to look nice or anything. He just threw on a house shirt and a pair of jeans. He didn't even bother to put on shoes. After all, he was going to bed after, so it didn't really matter. Phin looked around the Great Hall when he got there. The fireworks that were going off where making really loud banging noises, or was it the  music that made it sound like fireworks? He didn't honestly know the difference! Nor did he care! But regardless, the noise was so loud that Phin covered his ears. He looked around the room for his targets. Aha! There they were. Right in the middle of the room. Phin shoved a first year to the ground, and pushed his way towards the center. He saw them. They weren't even holding hands or making any indication that they were together! Phin was right! The rumors were false! She was using him to make Phin jealous! Phin grinned and said, "H-heyyyyyy guyssssss." Sluring his words a little bit. Not on purpose of course. It was just the alcohol taking it's course. He smiled a cheeky grin at Aoife and at that moment, his life was a peaceful bliss.

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptyFri Jan 30, 2015 10:13 pm

Admittedly, Aoife had never been the biggest fan of New Year's. It had never really seemed like something worth celebrating. After all, it just meant another year had past, you were getting older, you were planning to make resolutions that you definitely wouldn't keep. But nonetheless, she didn't tend to share these views with her peers, who were all fans of watching fireworks and waiting until midnight to celebrate the new year. And she didn't exactly mind joining in on the celebrations, it was just that she didn't really feel that they were entirely necessary. But she liked fireworks, and this could count as one of the contract dates, and she was hardly going to sit in her dorm while everyone else was here making loads of noise and enjoying themselves. If she had any luck, Hunter would bring pumpkin juice for her to mix the dumb firewhiskey in with, since that made it so much better.

Having got dressed up the most she ever would, in a top with a glittery sheep on it with her least wrecked jeans, she headed down to the common room to meet Hunter. In a way, she was excited for the sake of the firewhiskey Hunter would almost certainly have, and the pretty magical fireworks, which were a hundred times better than the muggle ones she'd grown up seeing, and which sometimes made the tiniest bit less noise as the muggle ones. But she'd stashed some earplugs in her bag just in case. Almost unbelievably, she wasn't one for loud noise, and while she liked fireworks a lot, the noise they made combined with loud music and people talking sometimes scared her into thinking she was going to suddenly go deaf from all the noise. However irrational that might be.

When it was almost time for the fireworks and Hunter tried to drag her outside quickly, she rolled her eyes. "Calm down, we're not going to miss them," she assured. Somebody was excited. Or maybe he'd already had too much firewhiskey to act rationally. Hunter VanDerberg, her alcoholic... boyfriend. That was weird. It didn't sound right. She wouldn't think of him as her boyfriend, because that was a bit gross, and Aoife O'Donnell did not do boyfriends. Except maybe she did now. To use the technical term. Gross. She sped up to follow him, shaking that thought from her mind and deciding to just try and actually enjoy this, despite being entirely convinced now that New Year's was dumb, unnecessary and a symbol that she was getting really, really old.

The fireworks began to go off soon, and she smiled, watching the bright colours explode, lighting up the sky. With the castle behind it, it was quite a pretty scene. If you were in to artistic shit like that. Which she wasn't. Although she was incredible at drawing. Interrupting her constant train of random thought, Phin approached, and she hid a scowl. After being a moody shit at the quidditch match, he shouldn't be here, acting as though they were still best friends, which right at that moment, she didn't think they were. "I think you should leave," she said bluntly, shooting him a look that said she wasn't impressed by his presence. And then when he talked, his voice a slur, and she saw that he wasn't wearing any shoes, she realised that he was drunk. Brilliant. Two drunks to deal with. But hopefully Phin would just get the message and disappear.

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySat Jan 31, 2015 10:23 pm

Normally, Hogwarts had some kind of ball around the Christmas holidays, and it always turned out to be lovely. But this year, as it seemed, they'd decided to forego the typical Christmas formal, and had instead implemented a New Years Eve party! Which Seren had mixed feelings about, because a party was much less sophisticated than a ball. And Seren was a very sophisticated type of person. However, perhaps a party would be good for her. It would give her an excuse to wear one of her shorter dresses, and maybe even give her a chance to let go and have a good time! Seren had moved on with life this year quite easily without Hunter, but she DID have to admit that without him, things were much more boring. He'd brought a lot of excitement into her life that she simply didn't tend to seek out on her own. But maybe, it was about time that she tried!

"What do you think?" Seren asked Victoria as she finally tied her hair back, having dawned a short pink dress with a pair of black pumps. And then, seeing that her roommate still wasn't dressed, she sighed. Victoria SO needed Seren's help. ALL THE TIME. "What are you doing?" she asked impatiently. "GET READY! And wear that dress that I said you could borrow, it would look GREAT on you!" Seren was SO NICE letting Victoria borrow her clothes. And Victoria was SO LUCKY that she had such a nice roommate, and that they wore the same size! FINALLY, after waiting AGES, Victoria was ready, too, and they were able to leave for the party.

And surprisingly, the party turned out to be fun! Although most people were a bit drunk by the time midnight neared, and Seren found herself standing outside next to Victoria with a large group of people. Victoria's friends. And Hunter's friends. But no Hunter. Which Seren wasn't sure if she was thankful for or not. But, before she could decide, he turned up, with his brand new red headed sheep freak girlfriend in tow. In all honesty, Seren had no idea how to react to the news that Hunter and Aoife were together. She held no ill will toward Hunter, as their relationship hadn't ended in anger. It simply hadn't worked out. But she couldn't help a twinge of jealousy at the sight of the two. But it wasn't as strong as she might have feared. And, she had to admit that they looked good together. Of course, Seren looked better than BOTH of them!

Seren gave Hunter a smile, and ignored Aoife which was nicer than insulting her. "Hi, Hunter," she responded a bit hesitantly, peeking out from behind Victoria to get a better look at him. He looked wonderful as always, and for a moment, Seren wondered what she'd been thinking breaking up with him, simply for the fact that he was NEARLY as attractive as her. But even as she thought it, she knew that it wasn't an option at the time. Then, that Phineas boy turned up, and Aoife seemed frustrated at his presence. Having said hello, and not really being sure how to continue, Seren looked back up at the sky where the fireworks were bursting in pretty colors. It would be midnight, soon. At which point the entire student body would go wild and probably trample her, as she was stuck somewhere in the middle. She'd made sure her wand was loosely gripped in her hand, just in case she needed to hex anyone into oblivion for any reason at all.

The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySun Feb 01, 2015 2:47 am

"We don't really have to go, do we?", Victoria asked lazily as she was spread out across her bed. She had always hated balls and official parties, ever since she was a child and her mother forced her into a pink dress and told her she had to behave. Which meant no playing hide and seek underneath the tables, no running around the backyard and absolutely no eating all of the deserts and then throwing up in the bathroom. So the Ravenclaw had spent her whole life with the firm belief that all parties must be boring and therefore a waste of her time. Well except if it's something casual where she could just wear jeans and a shirt and be good. But not something that had a dress code! And people expect her to wear heels for Merlin's sake! Heels! As if trying to dance in front of everyone when you had no musical rhythm whatsoever wasn't embarrassing enough, she had to add falling flat on her face to the list. Because let's face it, these were the certain events that will follow. Victoria will drink, because she always does, and then she will dance, because drunk people don't give a shit, and then she will fall on her face, because drunk people also forget that they have no balance whatsoever. So far, a very promising evening ahead of her.

Her gaze fell on her roommate as Seren was asking her opinion of the dress. After scanning and analyzing her whole outfit from top to bottom, Victoria responded with a smile. "Yeah, you look great! And your shoes are... wow. So tall. And black", she complimented her, paying special attention to the high pumps that Seren has chosen to match her outfit. After careful consideration, she had determined that there was no way she could wear anything like that without falling down. Ever. Was it ok if she went in sneakers... or in flats perhaps? "YES, YES. Okay...", she said rolling her eyes when her roommate started to panic about the fact that Victoria was still in her pajamas. Walking to her closet, she realized that she had nothing to wear. She wasn't exactly the flashy and short dress type of girl. All she had was these weird matronly skirts that she bought when she was thirteen and the same black jeans that she wore almost every day. Which, she was told, were not appropriate for this party. "But... it's so small!", Victoria said staring at the dress Seren had picked out for her. It was a black, skin tight dress that had barely reached the middle of her tights, with some gold details around the hemline. It was a pretty dress of course, that was not the issue. But since it was New Year's Eve, the least she could do was put some effort. "Thanks", she added to Seren as she quickly started doing her makeup and putting her dress on.

After rushing to get done on time, Victoria finally joined her roommate downstairs and they headed to the great hall. So maybe this whole party thing won't be so bad after all, since all of her friends were there. And Hunter was bound to have a bottle of Frewhiskey around or perhaps two. Really she didn't need much more than that to have fun. Soon, she found herself standing in a group of her friends waiting for midnight to come along so they could all watch the fireworks together. Her eyes were glued to the large window as she excitedly waited for the strike of midnight, until two more addition to the group had just showed up. Seeing Hunter and Aoife next to each other forced a large grin upon her lips. She eyes Hunter as if she was trying to figure out if this was a date. But of course it was! And she would have totally attacked Aoife with talk of how much she thinks that they make a perfect couple, until she noticed Seren peeking at Hunter from behind her. Oh right... not everyone was so excited about this news as she was. Even though Victoria was convinced that her roommate was over Hunter, it still must be a hard thing to witness. Him and Aoife, together and so strangely happy. "Hi guys", was the only thing she said as she offered them both a smile.

But the group got yet another interruption as a young Hufflepuff boy stumbled across the room with his eyes gleaming at Aoife. She quickly recognized him as Phin and chuckled at his appearance. The boy was clearly drunk and it was hard to decide what was more difficult to watch - him slurring his words or the obvious way he had approached only Aoife. But the Gryffindor girl clearly had no patience for him whatsoever. "Maybe she you should just sit down and take a minute. Here, I'll help you find a chair", she quickly offered before either of them could say anything else. This situation could only end up in two ways, and both were rather unpleasant. One, Aoife gets pissed off and punches the boy in the face, which would get her plenty of detention hours. Or two, Hunter gets pissed off and he punches him in the face. Either way, if he didn't stop what he was doing, Phin was going to be hit by someone. The only question was who. "Oh look! An empty seat right there", she said pointing at a chair in the far left corner, hoping the Huffulpuff would take her advice and just leave right now.

The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySun Feb 01, 2015 9:15 am

New Year's Eve, wonderful. Agnes thought as she pulled on her leggings. The baby wasn't letting her wear regular jeans, and she was sick of the elastic pants she had to wear on a regular basis. She just wanted to feel pretty for a chance, because most of the time she felt like she was a soldier in war, sleeping in the middle of the dirt and peeing her pants. It wasn't a good feeling, as she was often feeling blue already with the many mood changes and hormone swings. Therefore, she had actually brushed her hair and done her nails, because it was a special day and nobody could take that away from her, not even the stupid younger students who apparently didn't know how people even got pregnant. Really, how ignorant can one be? She decided to make some light humour out of her condition and some people's ignorance by wearing a shirt she'd gotten while on a shopping trip with her mother over the holiday break. It read Preg-nant. Terms: Expecting, with child, preggers, eating for two, expecting an arrival. "When one is carrying a child." She decided her choice of clothing was decent enough to head down and watch the fireworks.

Agnes wasn't expecting anything. No handsome prince to lock eyes with across the room and dance with as the promise of a new and better year arrived in counted minutes. No, that was the childish and immature Agnes. The new year she always looked forward to was going to be different this time because she was supposed to pop the kid out by late June or early July, which she hadn't thought about until she finally gave in and went to St. Mungo's over the break. The healer had told her the gender of the kid was no secret, as it was plainly visible through ultrasounds by now, but Agnes didn't want to know. The reasons behind her decision was that her parents had been told Ansel would be a girl, so they bought girl clothes and decorated the nursery in pinks and purples, but they soon discovered that their firstborn was very much a little guy. Later, they were told she was a boy, so her parents didn't bother to buy anything as they figured Ansel's old baby stuff would do, but they ended up with a little girl with a big head, and they had to go buy girl clothes and toys.

Agnes didn't have money. She had no way of financially supporting herself and this baby, she didn't even have a plan yet! She would just stay in school as long as it was possible, and then she'd have the kid, but the thing was that Agnes wasn't so sure about staying in school. She could be taught at home, her mother was a professor! That way she would be able to stay with her mother and Ansel, and the baby wouldn't be alone all the time. "I bet you don't want to be with me all the time." Agnes said, as she'd gotten into the habit of speaking to the little alien just so he wouldn't be bored in there. "I really don't get how you can stay there. I eat a lot of nasty stuff. Lots of nasty British stuff." It was pretty amazing, though, to see that Victoria had stayed with her through something like this. It made Agnes love her a million more times as she even got tired of herself from time to time, but Victoria was still there. Of course, Vicky has her other friends, friends Agnes didn't mingle with, but that didn't bother Agnes at all. In fact, it was appreciated. Poor Bictoria having to deal with Agnes all the time.

Something else she was glad for, someone, was Hunter. Yes, he'd been the jerk that started this, but he had stayed as well. He'd flipped shit when he found out, as she expect him to, but Agnes had kept the promise and lied to him. She'd told him "Don't worry. It's not yours. I didn't see you over the summer, did I?" "Sometimes you have to lie, kid. Because people are often better off blinded." she told her fetus, voicing her thoughts out loud and walking through the empty hallways. Everyone was at the party, everyone. Maybe Agnes just needed to face it, her world had been Hunter, Victoria and Evan. And now Evan was gone, and Hunter was with Aoife, and so her world was reduced to one. But damn, that one made up for the rest of the world. She finally arrived, just as some Hufflepuff with bright blue eyes and raven hair offered to open the door for her. She thanked him and walked in, scanning the room for anyone familiar or anyone with a friendly face. There was a lot of people, much more than she was comfortable with, but her eyes fell on the redhaired lady standing by Hunter. Grinning at the sight of them, she decided to approach them. As long as nobody knew the guy behind her belly was Hunter, nobody could accuse her of anything.

As she walked closer to them, she noticed Victoria was there too, and some other pretty girl she recognized to be Seren. Seren didn't know Agnes, but Agnes knew Seren, and suddenly the picture became awkward. It seemed...unreal. Every girl in there had at some point had something to do with Hunter...and Agnes glanced quickly at Victoria, wondering if Hunter had somehow gotten her too. Were they all just a big gang of distressing keys in Hunter's game? Her stomach turned inside out because of how disgusting that image had been, and to keep herself from throwing up she took a deep breath before she finally reached their small crowd. Smiling, with the same purple bags under her brown eyes as a few weeks ago, she greeted Victoria first. "Hi, Vicky! Happy almost New Year!" before turning to greet everyone else, and a boy without shoes she hadn't noticed before. He didn't look very put together, so Agnes scrunched up her nose and ignored him. She didn't really greet everyone by name, or individually, a simple "Hey guys!" and a smile would be polite enough. Who would want to be friends with the pregnant girl, anyway? Nobody. Nobody with a sane mind, that is.

The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySun Feb 01, 2015 7:37 pm

For once, Hunter was at a party and wasn't drunk. Well, at least, he wasn't incredibly drunk. Slightly tipsy, of course, because otherwise it wouldn't be nearly as fun. So a bit drunk, but not slurring his words, pass out and not remember anything that happened kind of drunk. Just enough to have an awesome time. But definitely not enough to not be caught off guard when his ex girlfriend who he hadn't really talked to since they'd broken up popped out from behind Victoria as they reached her. Not realizing that she'd been there, Hunter stopped a bit short in a moment of hesitation, staring at Seren in surprise for maybe just one fraction of a second too long. She looked perfect, as always. And it took him a moment to realize that she was giving him a smile and greeting him like a normal person. Right, that meant that he should say hello back! Or something.

Hoping that his hesitation had gone unnoticed, he quickly covered it up by flashing her a grin of his own, his previous enthusiasm returning quickly. "Hey, Seren!" he replied, finding his voice easily. After all, there was no reason to make things awkward between them. "Campero," he added in a mock-serious greeting, before raising a middle finger to Victoria like usual and laughing. But then, before he could say anything else, someone else approached them. And Hunter would be lying if he said he wasn't happy that Aoife was less than amused by Phin's presence. He was even happier when she told him to leave, because it meant that he wouldn't have to waste his time telling the kid off. Aoife would probably do a better job of it anyway, and Hunter was in far too good of a mood to have to deal with Phineas Button. But it became quickly extremely apparent that Phin was beyond drunk, and Hunter rolled his eyes. Why was everyone such a fucking lightweight?

Deciding to ignore everything to do with Phin completely unless he absolutely had to acknowledge him, he instead looked up, watching the fireworks explode above. For some reason, ever since he was little, Hunter had always had a bit of an obsession with fireworks and rockets and the like. So, when he finally had the chance to see Wizard fireworks, his excitement level was pretty much through the roof. And these weren't even the best ones! Once the time got around to midnight, the really good fireworks would go off. Even the ones exploding now were pretty loud, enough that he hardly heard another voice greet them. Hunter turned to see that Agnes had joined them, and instantly smiled back at her. The whole pregnancy situation had put a lot into perspective for him, and he'd decided that keeping his friendship with Agnes a secret was stupid. He'd told her that he'd help her however he could, and he'd meant it. Whenever, and in front of whoever. "Didn't think we'd see you here," he shouted to her over the fireworks from where he was standing. "Er, nice shirt?" he added, not sure whether to laugh or not at the shirt that he had on. At least she was owning it - and Hunter had a real moment of appreciation for Agnes' badassness.

But once again, Hunter was distracted, because a loud chiming sound - louder even than the fireworks - started to ring out through the air. And one large firework shot into the air, bursting into an array of lights that formed the number sixty. The crackling lights lingered there, with each second twisting into a new number. The countdown! "Aoife, look! One minute! Pay attention!" he exclaimed, tapping her on the shoulder repeatedly to get her attention before pointing at the sky. Like she couldn't see it on her own. But Hunter was positive that they were about to witness the most epic fireworks that he'd ever seen in his life, and nobody should miss that shit. Fuck Phineas Button and whatever he wanted. If he distracted them from the fireworks, Hunter would just punch him in the face and knock him out or something. He grinned, watching with anticipation, as the number slowly counted down. Fifty three. Fifty two. Fifty one...

The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySun Feb 01, 2015 8:08 pm

The pretty girl told him to sit down. She was pretty. Prettier than Aoife pretty. Phin wasn't sure if that was the Alcohol, or his natural instincts. But either way, he was sure that he should listen to her advice because even he didn't want to get punched by either Aoife, or somebody else. But it was like a huge blow in the stomach when Aoife told him to go away. That meant that they actually weren't friends anymore. That everything he did last term was for nothing. That he couldn't be as cool as Chad, or get all the girls like Hunter did, and it simply wasn't fair.

But being drunk and having all these bad thoughts roaming around made Phin want to do something rash. Phin noticed Hunter flip the pretty girl off. That sure wasn't nice. Even when he was drunk Phin knew that getting flipped off wasn't a good thing. He said, "I'll protect you pretty!" Since he didn't know her name, pretty seemed like a better option. But as soon as he tried to make a move for Hunter, he got extremely groggy and headed for the chair instead. But Phin didn't make it all the way to the chair. The countdown had started.

What day was it again? What were they celebrating? He started saying the numbers out loud, "fifty, fourty-nine, forty-eight, forty-seven..." Forty-seven. That ungrateful number. Phin started thinking bad things about forty-seven. Forty-seven should die. Forty-seven, go to hell. Forty-seven... What else could he say to forty-seven. BOOM. Phin held his hands to his ears as the fireworks started going off. Drunk and fireworks did not mix. Drunk and parties did not mix. Phin and drunk did not mix. But alas, Phin fucked up again. He was still making his way towards the chair, but instead of the chair he faceplanted the ground and fell asleep. But he must not have been asleep for very long, because when he woke up, the countdown was still going and they were at fifteen seconds. He sat up and looked up. Pretty lights he thought. Just like the pretty lady.

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySun Feb 01, 2015 9:53 pm

As more people who she didn't care about arrived, Aoife glanced at each one who passed, occasionally returning her uninterested gaze to the sky, where fireworks continued to burst open into an array of bright, pretty colours. Only when Victoria showed up did she start paying attention to what was happening and stop thinking about Willow. "Hey Vicki-Tori," she grinned, watching as Hunter greeted her in that weird way, flipping her off. She didn't know why they did that but she didn't much care. Thankfully, DiplomatVictoria managed to guide Phin towards a chair a short distance away. That was nice. Although she was always up for a fight, the redhead felt like it was easier for him to just leave them alone for once. Maybe she could just have a fairly peaceful night, watch the fireworks and actually enjoy herself.

Only, that thought disappeared from her mind in an instant when she saw a familiar ugly mob of hair behind Vicky-Tori. Why did she bother coming over here? She took a couple of steps backwards, slightly away from Hunter and quite a bit away from Seren, feeling even more awkward than the conversation between those two looked. She remembered feeling a pang of sorrow for Seren when she signed that contract, and she almost felt it again. But then she realised she should feel sorry for herself, because Hunter was her boyfriend now, and because Seren was a cruel, heartless git, she was probably going to try and steal him back. Aoife frowned and looked back up at the fireworks, trying to ignore whatever was happening around her and think back about the sheep, frolicking in fields and enjoying life. There were no evil ex girlfriends and awkwardness in the sheep world.

Next one to turn up was Agnes, and she was glad to have someone else to look at. Because she was wearing a t-shirt. With pregnant on it. Agnes was pregnant? Aoife hadn't noticed. Well a few months ago she'd noticed the girl had put on a bit of weight, but she hadn't really seen her much recently. So she was pregnant? In complete shock, she glanced at Hunter, who looked far more amused than surprised. She shuffled back towards him. "She's actually pregnant?!" she whispered, completely in awe, in Hunter's ear. But then the countdown started and Hunter was poking her. "Shut up!" she hissed, trying to pay attention to the beautiful fireworks, which seemed to be getting better and better as midnight approached. Forty-six, forty-five. They were loud. Too loud. She needed those earplugs. But she didn't want to take her eyes off the fireworks for a second. These magical ones were amazing.

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptyMon Feb 02, 2015 1:49 am

Victoria was such a hopeless case, but in the end, she put on the dress that Seren had SO GENEROUSLY lent her. At first, Seren wasn't certain how to feel about Victoria, as she wasn't typically the type to have many female friends. Mostly because all of the other girls at school were always SO JEALOUS of Seren's perfection and beauty and didn't want to be dulled in comparison to her. But Victoria wasn't at all like that. She was actually very nice, aside from her STUPID cat, which really deserved to have a pile of books dropped on it. And since Seren no longer had a boyfriend to occupy her time, she'd made an effort to become friends with her roommate. When Victoria FINALLY came downstairs to go to the party, Seren smiled happily. "Oh, you look stunning! See, I TOLD you that dress would look great on you! Oh, but WHERE are your heels, Victoria?!" Seren added with a disdainful sigh. "Don't you have any? Go up and get my pair and... oh you know what, NEVERMIND, let's just go. You'll do." Hopeless. Truly, honestly hopeless.

Well, at least Seren wasn't the only one that didn't know how to react. Hunter seemed surprised to see her. Aoife seemed unhappy to see her, and kept her distance. But Seren was glad when Hunter returned her smile with a grin reminiscent of who he'd been before the tragedy his family had suffered last year. In fact, he seemed a thousand times happier than the person she'd left behind last year. Unconsciously, Seren's eyes traveled to Aoife, and then back to him. Of course, it had never been Seren who could have brought him back from the pain he was suffering. No, he'd always preferred Sheep Freak's company when he was upset. And as Seren glanced at Aoife again, she frowned. Because the redhead didn't seem very interested in being near Hunter at all. Which really wasn't very fair. Hunter wasn't a bad person. He'd just gone through a bad situation, and Sheep Freak didn't seem to even care how happy Hunter seemed to have her with him. Probably because she was a STUPID IMMATURE FREAK who didn't care about anyone or anything but sheep. And SHEEP COULDN'T EVEN CARE ABOUT HER BACK. How terribly immature.

"Oh, now really," Seren commented indignantly when the younger Hufflepuff didn't even make it to the chair that Victoria had SO KINDLY directed him to. She shook her head, looking over Victoria's shoulder at the boy. "Is that really necessary?" Seren didn't have a very high tolerance for alcohol. So, Victoria didn't wear anything that looked half decent unless Seren forced her, and Seren didn't drink. In fact, she was still sipping on the same drink that had been pushed into her hands at the beginning of the party. Seren found highly drunk people to be particularly disgusting. Though, Seren couldn't decide if this girl's shirt was more or less sophisticated than the boy who had fallen on the floor. Pregnant. OBVIOUSLY, Seren looked down at the girl's stomach before even bothering to see who she was. And she WAS pregnant! OH HOW TRASHY! When Seren looked up to see her face, it was the french transfer. Seren hadn't spoken to her before, and was very unsure whether to think she was the worst form of trash for her condition or to be sympathetic towards her for it. Since she seemed to be friendly with Victoria, Seren opted for the latter. She could always decide that the girl was unsuitable company later, if she wanted.

For now, she gave the girl a smile. "I don't think that we've met. I'm Seren," she said, still eying the girl's stomach a bit judgmentally. Because the question remained. Whore, or innocent victim? Or somewhere in between? When the countdown began, Seren looked up at the sky again. If anybody came close to trampling her, she'd simply step on their foot with her incredibly sharp high heel. THAT would put them in their place! Thirty nine, thirty eight, thirty seven...

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptyTue Feb 03, 2015 1:23 am

please read:

New Year's Eve was one of Ariel's favourite days, because it ended everything of the previous year and started something new. And this year, though having really been pretty good as she'd had no awful fallouts with her friends, had also been the first year in a long time that she wasn't nearby the comforts of her sister. And though this made Ariel feel a bit more independent, it also made her feel really sad. After her father died, Darcy had really been the one Ariel could lean on, and having her so close at all times had probably made her feel safer than what was strictly necessary.

Ariel had opted to go home for the Christmas holidays, but this was her OWLs year. And spending new year's at Hogwarts was one of the really beautiful things. She'd gotten into her dress for the night pretty early, and wrapped herself in her big, comfy coat. Because hell if she should freeze to death. Then, after having done that, she'd been tripping around her room, just waiting for the time to come. Dinner had been brilliant as well, which she had spent with the best people in the world. And when the clock struck eleven, she'd left the common room to go outside. She knew she was early, but New Year's was the best! It was amazing to just welcome a new year and say goodbye to the old one. She felt like it was a seriously underestimated holiday.

She found a good spot, having changed her shoes to comfy, warm ones so she wouldn't freeze to death, and wrapped the coat tightly around herself. She wasn't cold, luckily, because she did not feel like going back inside. She'd been one of the first people to show up outside, and the minutes ticked away. The first person to show was Blake and he was soon followed by a range of other people, like Victoria and Seren, and soon Hunter and Aoife showed up. Ariel, having paid attention, saw the hand-in-hand thing, before Hunter (yes, of course it was Hunter) let go of Aoife's hand. Ariel grinned at him, and then Phineas, the Hufflepuff fourth year came stumbling around, clearly drunk out of his mind. She did feel sorry for him at Aoife's comment, but she supposed there was a valid reason. Not that there was a valid reason to make Hunter feel miserable, but she seemed to be doing a good job at avoiding that for now.

And then a Gryffindor girl that Ariel had only seen once or twice and knew perfectly well as Agnes, the pregnant girl who gave Hunter quite the scare, walked over and Ariel grinned to her, giving a wave. But for now, Ariel stayed silent. She didn't mind that the others were talking, but she liked to spend the last minutes before the new year rolled in, reminiscing about the old one. And then the countdown started. Ariel started smiling like an idiot as the first firework exploded on the clear night sky, and she made a giddy noise. It was close now! And she was there with the best gang of people, only lacking one person in the whole wide world. Ariel was more than content.

Thirty-six, thirty-five, thirty-four...

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptyThu Feb 05, 2015 12:34 am

READDDDD:

Apparently, the git of a puff was more drunk than he'd let on, and he collapsed onto the floor before he even made it to the chair that Victoria so nicely pointed out to him. "Git," Hunter muttered into Ariel's ear, who he'd obviously ended up standing next to. In all of Hunter's experiences drinking, he'd never been so incapable of walking as Phin was. And he'd definitely never passed out in the middle of a crowd. But Hunter was too distracted by the fireworks and all of his friends and the impending new year to pay him more than a moment of attention. A shocked voice caused him to glance down to his left, and he nodded to Aoife, who had apparently decided to join him again after distancing herself from Seren. "Yeah," he answered back, having to lean close to her ear in order for her to hear him. "You do know what that means, don't you?" he joked, grinning at her, before glancing back up at the sky.

Thirty two. Thirty one. Thirty. "Thirty seconds!" he whispered excitedly into Aoife's ear. He really couldn't understand why Aoife didn't love New Years. It seemed like a perfectly fitting holiday for her, being that it was loud and obnoxious and kind of pointless and so was she. At least Ariel seemed to be on his level of excitement, and he couldn't help but grin at the giddy look on her face as she watched the countdown. Twenty four. Twenty three. Twenty two. Finally, as the countdown reached ten, the fireworks ceased completely. Only the numbers still sizzled in the sky, twisting from ten into nine into eight. The loud bangs from the fireworks were replaced by the crowd counting down out loud, and Hunter shouted out with them as the numbers lowered with every second. "FIVE! FOUR! THREE! TWO - " But the one was never heard, despite being shouted by the entire population of Hogwarts - minus Phineas Button who was passed out and probably suffering from alcohol poisoning.

It wasn't heard, because the deafening crack of the world's biggest firework ever sounded out across the sky, and literally the most gigantic firework that Hunter had ever seen exploded, lighting up the castle and the grounds in about eight thousand different colors. There was a brief moment of silence, and then all at once, fireworks began exploding literally everywhere and the entire crowd erupted, screaming and jumping and cheering. Hunter obviously exploded with them, punching a fist into the air and shouting into the sky at the top of his lungs, a huge grin on his face. Which was basically his way of saying fuck every second of bullshit that ever happened before right now! Fuck everything! It didn't matter anymore! Enough of that shit! This wasn't about the past. The past was fucked up, but that didn't mean that Hunter's entire life had to be fucked up because of it. And for once, he really believed that life could be better.

He stared at the sky a moment longer than he might have. Because if Jack could see him, he'd give Hunter hell if he ignored him in such an epic moment. He'd always wished that Jack could see Hogwarts. See magic. Maybe now, he could. Maybe he could see the castle, and the grounds and the crowds and the fireworks. What do they look like from up there? he silently asked his brother, grinning. After a moment, he finally remembered his friends and grinned down at Aoife. With her fiery red hair, and the half-awed, half uncomfortable expression she had watching the fireworks, and the way that her face was illuminated by every color possible at once, he'd never wanted to kiss her so badly in his life. But up until now, he hadn't. Because he'd promised her that he wouldn't push her. Because he was trying not to make her uncomfortable. Because he knew that she wouldn't want him to.

But in that moment, none of that made any difference. Fuck being patient - fuck trying to make Aoife feel comfortable! It was a new year - a new start. Fuck the past. To say he thought about it for even a second would be a lie. Hunter didn't think at all. Fuck thinking. All that mattered was the crowd and the new year and the frustratingly pretty red head standing next to him. So, somewhere between the fireworks and the firewhiskey and the euphoria, Hunter slipped a hand behind Aoife's neck, under her hair, and - finally - kissed her! Because fuck mouth germs. Because she was there and she was his girlfriend at least for another two weeks. Because he didn't give a shit if she was angry or uncomfortable or embarrassed that everyone had seen it. It wasn't romantic, or emotional, or any of that shit. It was just pure spontaneity and excitement, mixed with the hormones of a teenage guy who had gone two weeks without even kissing his own girlfriend

A few moments later, Hunter pulled away from Aoife, grinned broadly at her, and turned away from her as though nothing had happened. Because he obviously couldn't celebrate the New Year properly without his best friend. "Happy New Year! Hang on!" he shouted to Ariel with a mischievous grin, ducking his head underneath her and lifting her up onto his shoulders in one motion, laughing as he did so. "Er, you might want to hold onto your dress," he added apologetically, maybe a little to late, angling his head to grin up at her. It had been a spontaneous act, but now that he'd done it he could see that it was actually a smart one as well. Because Aoife would be much less likely to attack him if it meant Ariel would fall and plummet to her death. But Aoife didn't matter right now. She mattered a moment ago, and he didn't even know if she'd be pissed. But he didn't give a shit. He'd worry about it later. Because Ariel mattered now. They'd made a pact, after all, and he wasn't going to be the one to break it.

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptyThu Feb 05, 2015 1:23 am

Phin properly sat up. He looked up as the countdown got shorter, his eyes got brighter, and the booms just got louder. As he tried to get up, the loud booms felt like cannons echoing in his ear and he couldn't get up from the force of them pulling him down. He gave up and just sat staring at the grass trying to drown out the sound of the loud fireworks, and the people screaming the last few seconds of the count down. He held his hands to his ears and looked around at the people who were hanging around Hunter and Aoife. The only legit couple that he could point out where Hunter and Aoife. So he didn't have to worry about looking at people sharing affection all around him. He wondered and semi hoped that the pretty girl would come over and give him a kiss. Maybe that could be a start that his year could start on a more positive note, and he would remember it as the first time he got kissed, and not got drunk.

But as he looked around for the mop of purple goddess, his eyes laid on something that he wish he didn't see. Something he wished to unsee but that was too late now, as his corneas were on fire. He thought he had seen it all but at this point he had been lying to himself. He covered his eyes when he saw it. When he saw the last person he thought he would ever see kiss a boy. Well, more like she was probably forced. But still, something that Aoife stood for rather strongly. It was then he felt his stomach churning. It got all bubbly and at this point he leaned over and vomited on the ground. He managed to stand up, though a little wobbly with vomit running down his face. He forgot all about the pretty girl with the pretty purple hair, and his first kiss, and started for a bathroom. At that moment, the moment he walked away, the moment he saw what he couldn't unsee, was the moment that he Phineas Button was forever a changed boy.

He had over come abuse within his home, rejection from his once best friend, and now this. Phin was now sure that nothing worse could come his way. He had his pudding company he remembered, and his Uncle Chad. He was sure that the other things he wanted in life would come as they came, but for now, Phin was happy being Phin. Happy, care free, and preferably not drunk. Phin was ready to turn a new leaf, and let go of the one he once loved. Yeah, he had thought he had in the past, but seeing her tonight made him realize that he hadn't. That kiss was pretty much the last straw, even if she didn't want it to happen, it was just a sign that Phin and Aoife were over.

The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) Empty
PostSubject: :(((((((   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptyThu Feb 05, 2015 8:39 pm

Looking around a little more, Aoife felt a little underdressed. Wherever she turned, there were loads of girls in dresses that she imagined she would look hideous in. But then her eye caught Phin again, and she felt reassured that she wasn't the worst dressed person here. Even if she was, she shouldn't really care. In the past, she'd prided herself on not giving a shit about insignificant teenage girl stuff - so why should now, her being sixteen and a half, make things any difference? She'd started to think too much about other people and what they thought than about herself, and she had become less self-absorbed and uncaring, in a bad way. She'd come round to that dilemma, once again, that she could be actually growing up. And it was bad. So she shrugged it off, trying to restore her interest in what was going on around her and enjoy herself a bit. She was just in a shit mood. Because she was tired and hungry and cold, because it was the middle of winter.

Yeah, Hunter had definitely known already. Why? Him and Agnes didn't even like each other. Had the girl been wearing that shirt a lot recently, the redhead the only one being too oblivious to notice? She frowned. "Yes, I know exactly what that means," she said solemnly, feeling sorry for poor Agnes. "It means she's going to have a bratty little child, who's going to ruin her life and stop her ever achieving anything." She was pretty sure that was what being pregnant before you were like thirty meant. It was a shame, really, because she'd liked Agnes, but when she was Hogwarts headmistress, she couldn't stay in contact with losers who'd ruined their own lives by being pregnant.

It started getting close, then, so she waited, not joining in with the excited talking and noise around, because she wanted it to be bloody midnight already, so that the noise could end, and she could make an excuse to leave and go to the kitchens, and then to bed. Thirty seconds seemed like a long time. But when it got down to ten, she felt like the excitement had got to her a little bit, and she was less grumpy, more bouncing up and down ever so slightly, waiting for the best part of the already awesome fireworks.

But unfortunately, she missed that bit, because before she knew what was happening, Hunter had got uncomfortably close to her and started sharing mouth germs. For some strange, strange reason, she didn't feel that uncomfortable and awkward for a second. True, she wasn't exactly kissing back, but she wasn't resisting either. And despite having been completely against the sharing of mouth germs, she had the theory that the worse a person was, the less you should want to share mouth germs with them, because you might die. But Hunter wasn't that bad. So she wasn't terrified that she was going to die, and she was feeling dizzy enough that reality didn't really seem to be affecting her so much anymore.

And when he pulled away, grinned, and turned around, she couldn't help but smile too. At his back, of course. And for a couple seconds, she stood there oblivious and stupidly happy. After what seemed like hours, but in that dumb real world, was probably just a moment, she stepped away, and glanced around to see what was going on now, with the crazy party animals that were Hogwarts students. But she caught the eye of an apparent spectator, and the look she saw in Phin's eyes made her want to cry. But then he vomited, ruining the sad moment, which was okay she guessed, so she turned away, because ew, gross, vomit, what even was he doing.

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySat Feb 14, 2015 7:05 pm

Ariel gave Hunter a look. "Be nice, Hunter. It's New Year's Eve," she said, though she somewhat agreed. Phineas was too young to be drinking alcohol, and the fact that the professors didn't talk to him disturbed Ariel to no end. It was insane, they should take it seriously when someone so young started drinking and was obviously drunk on the school grounds. Both for the sake of the one drinking, and the younger students (and even some of the olders) around him. But she decided to not think too much about it, because it was only twenty seconds now! She could barely keep still as her entire body was rigid and finally she just started jumping up and down, not caring who thought she was being weird or childish. After all, she never really cared.

She chanted along with the others when ten seconds were left. And then explosions of beautiful colors made Ariel's face hurt because her smile was so big she feared it might literally rapture her skin. She couldn't contain it though, and squealed and looked at the fireworks. They were so beautiful. She was only dragged back to earth when she saw Hunter kissing Aoife. Which made her smirk mischievously. As if she'd had anything to do with it. But it was about time. Ariel laughed as she looked away and back at the fireworks. And then Hunter was there, shouting happy new year at her. She laughed even harder, but then saw his mischievous grin. Oh... No. Ariel was suddenly lifted into the air, clinging onto the top of Hunter's head. "HUNTER, WHAT THE HELL?!" she shouted, but as her balance somewhat returned, she looked back down at him and grinned. "Happy New Year, Hunter!" she yelled, feeling undeniably happy at that moment. "And don't worry. Your head's blocking the view," she said smugly. She tousled his hair and then her huge, cheek-rapturing smile reappeared as she continued to watch the fireworks. Tonight, nothing was wrong. Tomorrow, everything was new.

PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptySat Feb 14, 2015 9:30 pm

Why was it that Ariel Wilde had to be SO PRETTY?! Seren had never seen the blonde girl dress up before, and although she looked amazing on any given day, when she tried, she apparently reached a level of beauty that Seren could only hope to live up to. And despite having decided that she liked Ariel much better than most people, Seren still thought that it was SO INCREDIBLY UNFAIR that she was SO perfect! Not that Seren was jealous. Seren didn't get jealous, since she was quite perfect herself. She was just highly observant of the unnatural qualities that certain veela-blooded people possessed. Still, when she and Victoria reached the younger girl, Seren had tact enough to give her a smile. "Oh, Ariel, you look amazing! I simply LOVE your dress!" she said. Seren's words were sincere, because they were, of course, the truth.

The countdown reached ten, and suddenly everybody was counting out loud. Seren didn't shout with them, because she didn't much see the point. She was more concerned about the madhouse that the student body would turn into in less than ten seconds. But Seren couldn't help but look up at the sky expectantly as the numbers lowered, and when at last the students did erupt into cheers, Seren ended up smiling as she looked at the sky. Although she was still slightly worried about getting trampled, the enthusiasm of the rest of the school was infectious, and she had to laugh slightly in delight as colors spread across the sky. But it didn't take long for Seren's attention to be drawn by something even more eye-catching than the fireworks. For a moment, all that Seren could do was stare, because to see Hunter kissing... well, anyone but her... the idea was slightly inconceivable. A slight pang went through her chest at the sight of it.

But the pang was quickly gone, and as she watched the kiss unfold (in a COMPLETELY NON-CREEPY WAY OF COURSE) the shock dissipated as well. It wasn't as though Seren hadn't expected it. Of course not, because EVERYONE had expected it. Seren had always known that if he had the choice, he would have chosen Aoife over herself. And in a way, it was right to see them together. "Yes, well, I guess it's about time, isn't it?" Seren commented aloud to those around her, though particularly speaking to Victoria. It WAS a bit surprising to see the look on Sheep Freak's face when it was all said and done, and one would have to be an idiot to not understand that she had never experienced that before. Which was surprising, because Seren knew that Hunter was quite a physical person. Not in a bad way, simply in the sense that it was how he showed his emotions. And in the end, the expression on the redhead's face actually made Seren giggle. It was slightly frustrating, however, the way that Seren's attention was drawn to her ex boyfriend, and another pang of jealousy hit as he lifted the OBNOXIOUSLY PRETTY blonde up onto his shoulders. Seren really needed to find a new, EVEN MORE ATTRACTIVE, boyfriend. "I suppose they're a bit cute together, aren't they?" Seren said, though she wasn't certain if she was talking about Hunter and Sheep Freak, or Hunter and Ariel. She supposed that both were true, so it didn't make much difference how it was taken.

The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE)   The Clock Strikes Twelve (OPENISH!!! NEW YEARS EVE) EmptyTue Feb 17, 2015 5:50 pm

Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five. Only a few seconds away from the struck of midnight and everyone's eyes were glued to the fireworks, except Victoria's. After greeting Hunter with their usual exchange of an insult and a middle finger, the little Hufflepuff boy decided that she needed saving. That she needed to be rescued like a damsel in distress just waiting for her Prince in her ivory tower. "Pretty?", she asked chucking, raising her eyebrows at the boy. Usually she would take such words as a compliment and smile in response. But coming out of Phin's intoxicated mouth, they just sounded amusing. "It's Victoria. My name... Victoria", she reminded him as he probably forgot, not that she blamed him for it. She knew fully well how difficult it was to retain new information when your brain was fogged with alcohol. Thankfully, Phin lunged himself towards the chair and not towards Hunter's fist, the first being the much smarter option of the two. And he came so close to reaching his goal destination until his body splattered across the floor and he fell asleep. She sighed as she watched this unfold and made a mental note to check on the Hufflepuff in a few minutes. You know, just to make sure he is still breathing.

Surprisingly, Agnes joined the party. "Happy New Year!", she grinned in response and threw her hands around her friends, being careful not to squish her growing belly in the process. Which was a difficult task in itself. But what was she wearing? Eyeing the Gryffindor's outfit, Victoria overlooked the legging, because there was nothing wrong with that, but her attention fell on her shirt that clearly read pregnant with a handy definition for the misinformed and ignorant. "Nice shirt. Very helpful as well. You look ready to party", she said with a laugh. Who cared if people knew she was pregnant. It was none of their damn business. And besides, she was already showing so she might as well avoid annoying questions and gasps of surprise. "Punch? It's not completely disgusting considering where we are. And it's not spiked, I checked", noted Victoria almost disappointed by this fact as she handed a drink to Agnes.

Ignoring the gossip that was going around as more and more people were noticing Agnes' outfit, her eyes turned to Hunter. Well Aoife and Hunter as they pretty much merged into one for a very public New Year's Eve kiss. A smile fell on her lips as she remembered how nervous the Gryffindor boy was on their first date. But that wasn't the only thing she had remembered from that night. Hunter's pale and clammy skin as she delivered the news of Agnes' pregnancy, his questions, his confusion and most importantly his anger. But Victoria had decided to push aside her suspicion of the whole situation, as the doubted that her curiosity would help anyone. What mattered now was Agnes and the baby, nothing else. And she had promised her friend that she would be supportive throughout it all, no matter what. "Yeah... I guess it is. I wonder how I haven't seen it before. But they are good together", she commented to Seren, regretting that her roommate had to watch this scene and suddenly very thankful that she didn't have an ex-boyfriend around. Or a boyfriend at all. They seemed to be more trouble than anything.

Quickly getting tired of sipping on the weird fruit punch that was served, Victoria pulled out a small bottle of Firewhiskey out of her bag and poured a large amount into her cup. That was the only reason she had carried a bag with her, to disguise and easily carry the alcohol around. What else was she supposed to put in it, make up? "Here, I think it's time for a drink. For the both of us", she said as she poured some into Seren's cup without even asking. She was aware that the girl didn't usually drink, but tonight was a special occasion. Holding her cup close to her chest, she made her way through the crowd hoping to see the final fireworks a bit clearly. Damn her short height. Standing on her toes, she could barely catch a glimpse of the dancing colors that were splattered across the sky. Three, two, one - it was midnight.
