| Aeva wore her cutest outfit, and straightened her hair. Everyone above third year would be going to Hogsmeade today, including her. Last year, she just stayed at the castle, but this year, this time she was going. She needed to find out what all the talk about this famous Butterbeer was. She couldn't wait, she stood at the entrance gates waiting for all the other students to get together before they opened the gates and began the fairly short walk to the village. She didn't know anyone around her, except Miranda, but at this particular moment in time, she didn't exactly see her. She's probably moping around the dorms, Aeva thought. It was wrong of her, especially since she just lost her mother but she could care less. She looked around as more and more students began to approach her, hoping someone, she kinda didn't care who, would befriend her. She didn't wish to take this trip alone, or survive the rest of this year with no friends. | |

| Aoife had decided, that morning as she got ready to go out to Hogsmeade, that there was nothing wrong with her wearing makeup. She hadn't done so for a while, having grown out of the phase, feeling very, very self-confident and quite frankly being too lazy to bother. But now, she had decided that wearing makeup didn't have to mean she felt it made her pretty, and she could do whatever she wanted, without anyone having the right to judge her. Everyone else wore makeup anyway. So she got changed into some warm winter clothes and put on some of the pink lipstick she'd brought for the sake of it. She was an independent woman, and she would do what she wanted, because she was more awesome than the rest of her yeargroup put together.
Realising it was getting late, she hurried down out of the castle then. She had to work today, but she was hoping to get her brother some wizard sweets, since his birthday was coming up in the next few weeks. So in order to get to work on time, she needed to get to Hogsmeade as soon as possible. When she got outside, she sighed, realising that the gates hadn't opened yet and she couldn't get out, so rushing had been pointless anyway. She went to wriggle her way through the crowds of students waiting, trying to ensure she could get out as soon as possible.
She was almost to the front of the group when she tripped over some Ravenclaw's shoelace and went flying into an older Slytherin girl. "I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, as she tried to steady herself and stand still.

| Aeva was still standing around as the gates became a little more crowded. She was beginning to become impatient, especially with all the little third years talking about their third year problems. She crossed her arms and bore weight on one leg, making her hip lock out. What was taking so long and why? Was Hogsmeade not open yet or something? How did this work? Suddenly, she felt someone run into her, which made her stumble a little, but she was was able to keep her balance. Then she heard an apology.
She was about to teach this child a lesson, however, when she turned around, she realised it was a girl around her age, give or take a year. The girl had long red, almost fiery hair, like her and she was pretty. She watched as the girl got to her feet and steadied herself. Aeva would've helped her, except she didn't need her help. "You okay?" she said in her usual thick accent. However thick it was, it was very clear usually. She had practised that.
In order for this girl to have hit Aeva and fall, she had to have been running. "What's so good about this place that you were trying to get to the front?" she smirked. She wanted to know where everyone was rushing to first and why. She took in more of the girls features, the clothes she wore, the way her make-up seemed carefully, yet carelessly applied. Was this girl Irish? She looked Irish, but maybe she wasn't. Aeva had red hair but was French. Maybe this girl was just another boring English girl. Aeva held out her hand, "I'm Aeva Riviere, French student, and this is my first time to Hogsmeade."

| "Yeah, I'm fine, thanks," Aoife nodded, before realising that the girl had an accent. An awesome accent, almost as good as hers. It sounded familiar. She was pretty sure it was... French? Yeah, that would explain why it was familiar, because it was a bit like Agnes'. Did that mean this girl was another transfer from that school in France she'd heard of but couldn't remember the name of? Before long, this school would be completely full of people from the foreign schools and wouldn't even need British and Irish students. Not that there were many Irish students anyway. She didn't really mind, though. Transfer students were quite cool. She didn't understand how they could speak English so well. When she was little, she'd tried to learn Spanish, but she couldn't remember anything.
Noticing the girl was a Slytherin, she wondered whether she was the typical horrible Slytherin that Gryffindors warned each other about, like Ari, or one of the nicer, weirder ones, like Matthew. When she talked again, she wasn't sure if she detected a note of sarcasm, or whether it was just that she couldn't understand the accent. The smirk on her face suggested she was being typical Slytherin-ish. Gosh, suddenly she was so good at reading body language. "I have to get to work," she decided to answer normally. "But I need to get my brother a birthday present first." And she couldn't do that unless they opened the stupid gates!
Aha! She had been right. The girl was French, and she was a transfer from the school which was nameless to the redhead. Aoife shook her hand and smiled. "I'm Aoife O'Donnell, Irish student, and this is one of many of my hundreds of trips to Hogsmeade." She'd decided recently that she really needed to make the most of her last two years at Hogwarts, so she was taking part in all the fun shite possible, like Hogsmeade trips for both fun and work, and all the parties, even when they didn't have a good reason behind them.

| She'd called it, the girl was Irish. Did that make her a sheep lover too? "Work?" Aeva instead questioned. She didn't actually mean for it to be a question, or for it to even come out but it did and what was said is done. She hoped the girl understood that she meant to ask where but that's not what came out. She wasn't aware they hired students, she wasn't aware they were even allowed to work. She assumed that not everyone could ask their parents to send them money though or maybe this girl still had both her parents and didn't get her share of her mother's will.
Aeva turned bitter for a moment. She loved her mother, she loved her father too but why was it that her mother had to die and not her father? She hid the bitterness beneath a smile. "What are you getting for your brother?" Aeva asked. She suddenly missed her older brother, he was an ass at times, but he was her ass. She thought of all the memories, her favourite one, by far was her first time seeing the Eiffel Tower, and learning the history behind it.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she directed her attention back to Aoife. "Aoife, that's a cool name." she said going back to the girl's introduction. "So do you have a sheep?" Shit. She shouldn't have said this, what if the girl didn't have sheep. It was a stereotype, just like the whole French stereotype that all French people stink and wear berets and eat snails. None of those were true, at least not about her. Okay, maybe she was rude, but she really wasn't trying to. She suddenly wished this girl actually knew her and was her friend, this would be so much easier.
The gates were still closed and still more students showed up. She felt trapped. If it weren't for the gates being closed, she wouldn't be stumbling trying to make friends. She'd simply go off on her own and explore, while secretly wishing she had someone to share the experience with, but here she was, trapped, making an ass of herself.

| Aoife wasn't really sure what to say. The girl's question wasn't really a question, just a word which sounded like it should have a question mark after it. Was she asking whether students were allowed to work? Where she worked? Had she misheard? "Uh... yeah," she nodded. "I work in Florean Fortescues'. It's an ice-cream shop. It has loads of really cool ice-cream flavours. Like wood and bacon and firewhiskey and- I haven't tried the firewhiskey one, obviously." Morgana had told her once that it would be illegal for her to try firewhiskey flavour. So she never had. While the older girl worked there. But then one day, she decided it was probably really nice, so she tried some. But people weren't supposed to know that, because she didn't want to have to go to wizard prison. "You should try some. Even when it's cold, they've got winter-ish flavours."
"Not sure, yet," she said, thinking about the possibilities. She'd most likely get him sweets, because he had been obsessed with Bertie Botts' since summer when she'd brought loads home. But he might want some prank stuff from Zonko's. No. He was probably too old for that now. Actually, no, Tag would never grow up, even though he was nearly twenty-four now. Anyway, she didn't even know if muggles were allowed to use the stuff from Zonko's, or whether that could be a different way for her to go to muggle prison. "Sweets, I think. There's a cool shop called Honeydukes there."
She was right. Aoife was a cool name, an awesome name in fact. As far as she knew, nobody else at Hogwarts was called Aoife. So she was completely unique. And awesome. "Thanks, I like Aeva too. Very... nice." The next seemingly-innocent statement shocked her. Had the Willow secret been spilled to someone? Had Aeva seen her somewhere. "No. I mean yes. I mean no. Not at Hogwarts. At home. On our farm. Lots of sheep. Why do you ask?" she babbled quickly, not taking a breath until she finished. She was scared. What if Aeva turned out to be evil and told Headmaster Grey about poor Willow?

| An ice cream shop. Ice cream with some weird flavors for sure. "Oh, well, some of those do sound odd, but I may try some later on." Maybe she'd get a spearmint flavor or something. She loved the taste of mint, though most people don't. Maybe she'd try the firewhiskey one, she was 17 after all, then again, ice cream that tastes like alcohol? Maybe it would be horrible. Maybe, just maybe she'd mix the two together. That could be interesting.
Sweets. She was thinking of getting her brother sweets. That sounded like something a boyfriend would give to his girl, but whatever. It was her brother after all, maybe he had a sweet tooth or something. For her older sister's next birthday, she wanted to get him the new telescope they just came out with, the one with the greatly improved zoom, since she was a big fan of Astronomy. "Does your brother go here?" she asked. "I have a sister. An older one that I really miss." Who names a candy shop Honeydukes? What even was a Honeyduke?
Did Aoife really like her name? Nah, she was probably just being nice in return for Aeva's compliment. "Thanks." she smiled a genuine smiled. She liked the girl, she seemed pretty cool and easy to get along with. Suddenly, the girl seemed to almost stumble, or babble on nervously. "Well...you're Irish and Irish people usually have sheep." she said, in an almost confused state. "Besides, sheep are cute, especially when they're babies." She glowed. She had seen pictures of sheep before and they always seemed so fluffy but Aeva had never seen one in person before. It had been her life long dream to visit Ireland anyways. It always seemed so beautiful and green and she really wanted to hunt for leprechauns.
