Jim waited at his desk for the third years to turn up, eating a slice of cheesecake that he'd nicked from the kitchens earlier. The house elves were incredible cheesecake makers, he must say. This piece in particular was some sort of toffee and it was just melting in his mouth. He must learn how to make it so well.
"Morning kids!" he grinned when the first few started climbing the ladder into his classroom. This was the third or fourth lesson with this class and he liked them a lot. There was even a girl he predicted had the SIGHT, just like him.
Before long, they'd all arrived. James finished his delicious dessert and stood up. "Last lesson, she used the glass spheres," he remembered. Now time to improvise this class. Well, he knew he would be using the glass balls. So should he just let the students stare into them for a bit? That sounded like a good idea.
"So...with your partners, look into the glass balls and tell each other what you see," he nodded. "Then look in the textbooks and see what it means."
Usually, his lessons were more exciting, but he was busy drinking tea at the moment. And maybe he could get more cheesecake. Yes! Jim pointed his wand at the plate and managed to make more toffee cheesecake! Yum. Now he could indulge in this for the rest of the lesson, just letting the kids relax and not do much work.
Things worked out as planned and it wasn't long until it tnrned two o'clock, the end of his lesson. "Sorry about that! Next time will be more fun! I promise!" he called as they filed out of the classroom as quickly as they had come in. Oh well, it wasn't so bad.
