Adventures in the Rain (Anthony)

Aoife had never been to that big stone bridge before, but she figured it would have a pretty cool view, so she was planning on going on some sort of magical adventure there. Her backpack was full. Sweets, sunglasses (even though it was pouring down with rain), parchment and her quill pen to make notes with. She was even wearing special adventuring clothes, cool jeans and a camouflage coat and stuff to make her look tough.

It was a Saturday, so she had all day for her adventure, although it may have to take a break for lunch. It was about half ten in the morning, so there was plenty of time to get everything done. Whatever everything was. As she was leaving the Common Room, she realised the vital thing she'd forgotten. Smartie! Her little kitten. Smartie liked adventures, and loved rain. Otherwise it would be animal cruelty to drag him out in the cold and wet, but she loved it, so it was okay!

Wow, it really was pouring down, she discovered when she stepped outside. The grounds were fairly empty, probably because it was raining and a little bit early. Unless everyone had turned invisible. Yes, that must be what had happened! Maybe she was invisible too, at least to everyone else! Mind blown.

Despite having lots of time, Aoife didn't want to waste a minute so ran straight towards the big stone bridge thingy. Now...to investigate it. It could be dangerous. Or just shy. She tapped on the stone. Okay, it was rock hard. Ouch. Looked pretty secure. Not going to collapse any time soon. It could randomly start throwing people off though. On her parchment, she made a list and started ticking these qualities off.

There wasn't much that she discovered. Maybe the sunglasses would help if she put them on. Nope. "So this has been a complete waste of time?" she murmured to herself, frowning. And she was completely soaked because of all the rain. Brilliant. No, it wasn't brilliant, that was sarcasm. Yes, she could totally pull it off. At least Smartie was happy, wandering around thickly next to her.
