| Everyone knows that magic is forbidden in hallways and corridors, so when it's supposed to be used in some thread, one has a problem with choosing a right location. In last term, for example, Evan had to do his experiments in the Clock Tower.
After classes are over, Hogwarts has a lot of empty classrooms, so I suggest to create a new location called "Classrooms" or something like that, where one can start a thread that needs magic. Going to exotic locations every time isn't that good in my opinion.
It could also be good for spontaneous private talks. | |

| Firstly, that rule is not listed in the Student Rules part of the Role play rules thread, which is where you should be checking all your in character rules. Secondly, the implication of that rule is that students shouldn't be hexing or cursing each other between classes, not that doing magic in a different location will make it all okay. Thirdly, if we decided to enforce that rule, it would only apply to your character. You could RP your character breaking it, and that would be perfectly fine. They might lose house points or get a detention as a consequence but you as a player wouldn't be in trouble for doing it. As for RPing in an unused classroom, you can create a thread in the hallways and corridors forum and just say in your first post that your character is in a classroom. The same way I could create a thread in the Entrance Hall and say my character is in the broom closet. If we had a forum for every conceivable location, the site would be even more massive than it already is. Another alternative is to PM the professors of any specific classroom you want to create a thread in and ask if that's okay. |

| I definitely agree with the idea of PMing professor and ask to "borrow" their classrooms for studying, however, Jay has come up with the idea of the study group, which I believe you have been informed about. The study group will be a new forum for this reason (so that you don't have to post on 'exotic locations' and risk getting your character in trouble), that way any student can experiment there whenever they want and use it for practice. | |
