The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony Empty
PostSubject: The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony   The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony EmptySat Jun 23, 2012 12:35 am

Owen sat on his golden throne chair and watch as George performed the sorting ceremony. He was there once with these students waiting and hoping to be placed in some of the houses. He remembered as it was yesterday when he stepped to the chair and took the sorting hat placed it on his head and waited there form some time while hat were deciding where to place him. He was at last placed in Ravenclaw house. Owen looked at the students and saw that many of them are afraid of what is happening tonight and he knew that they all wait for feast and bead.

Just as the last student was sorted Owen stood up and said "Welcome all, now that you all are sorted it is quite the right time to have your stomach filled with delicious meals. We will have more time for speeches later. Now enjoy." After those last words he raised his hand and everywhere meals appeared on the table. It all looked delicious and tasty and Owen had a quite nice meal that night. He always liked meals at Hogwarts. Those house elves make really good meals. As the last student finished up eating and plates were cleared Owen raised himself one more time and said:

"Good evening everybody. Nearly a decade has passed since someone addressed to students from this place. Opportunity that has presented to us means great step in magical world. We opened Hogwarts after years of preparation. Our new minister of magic thinks that we can move one step further in exploration of magic, and it is now on us not to prove him wrong. I cannot lie to you and say that this wont be hard, and that we will have an easy pass. We need to work our best to make this project succeed. We had some troubled times in the past, and it is safe to say that we are looking in the horizon of a turbulent years in front of us. But all in all Hogwarts stays the safest place in Britain. It is so, for one, because it has some of the greatest minds for its staff. Me as a Headmaster; George Juarez as my Deputy Headmaster and Astronomy professor; Ashton Clark as Flying and History of Magic professor; Ambrosius Umbranox as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor; and Tarik Terzic as Charms professor. Let us give the teaching staff a round of applause since after all they are the source of knowledge for all of you. Also Hogwarts is safest place in Britain since it has you as its students, you who decided to trust the Ministry and come here and make this all happen. Let us have a wonderful year and do our best so Hogwarts can be better than it once was."

With that he heard an applause and students raised from their seats to go to their dormitories leaded by their Heads of Houses.

The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony   The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony EmptySat Jun 23, 2012 12:24 pm

James was contemplating the Great Hall, while waiting with the others for the Sorting Ceremony to begin. He had never seen something so beautiful and amazing. He still couldn’t believe that all this was really happening, and that it was not part of one of those cruel dreams where you wake up just to find out that it was all just a part of your imagination.

Just two months ago, he was a regular boy. He had never been confronted to magic before, except in the numerous books he had read about it. He did notice that strange things happened when he was upset, but he never really attached much importance to it. However, he always hoped that something like magic existed, because he thought that the world he was living in would be rather uninteresting without it.

And then, a few days before his eleventh birthday, he received a visit that changed his life forever. The Caretaker of Hogwarts, what he will later learn to be a school of magic, came to announce him that he was a wizard, and that he had the privilege to be in the first generation of wizards and witches that will go to Hogwarts after its recent reopening. James’s first thought it was a joke, but after seeing the letter from the headmaster and the supply list and after hearing the explanation the caretaker gave to his parents, he was in a state between shock and extreme happiness.

After that, James spent most of the rest of the summer in his room, daydreaming about his future life and reading all the schoolbooks that he bought on Diagon Alley along with his school supplies. He wanted to know everything, and was so excited and eager to enter this amazing new universe. At the same time, he was a bit scared about the thought of leaving his parents and venturing into an unknown world, but this was his dream and he had to pursue it.

Something suddenly snapped him out of his thinking. He heard his name. 'Of course, the Sorting Ceremony' he thought, approached the stool hesitantly and put the Hat on his head. It was so wide it covered half of his face. A few moments later, he heard a voice, which was seemingly in his head: “Hmmm… I sense that you are intelligent and just. But I also feel you're patient, loyal and fair. Where to put you? It will be… RAVENCLAW!”. James had heard other students talking about the sorting ceremony before they entered the Castle, but he still knew little about the whole Housing system. Unsure about what to think of the hat's choice, James headed to his table.

After sitting at the Ravenclaw table, he looked around, curious about the people he would be seeing everyday from now on. Suddenly, the man sitting in the middle of the professors’ table, apparently the headmaster, stood up in order to wish them a pleasant feast. James glanced at the table, confused, as it was entirely empty. However, as soon as the headmaster stopped talking, hundreds of golden plates appeared from nowhere, filled with a vast array of delicious looking food. He examined the numerous dishes, his mouth gaping from surprise. 'I guess I have to get used to these sort of things around here' he thought, 'I can't let myself get surprised every time'. He couldn't eat almost anything. He was overwhelmed by everything that had happened to him in the last several weeks.

When the plates were almost empty, the headmaster rose again from his imposing chair, and the room immediately became silent. "Good evening everybody" the man started, telling them about the school's recent reopening and warning them that troubled times are far from over. He then presented the staff, and James glanced at each professor as their name were being pronounced, trying to figure what kind of teachers they would be. He then examined the other students. On the other side of his table, there was a girl with long, black and slightly wavy hair. Their eyes met and James quickly looked away, pretending to be listening to the headmaster's speech.

When the feast finally came to an end, James headed to the dormitories, tired of all the excitement that he had felt, but anxiously anticipating everything that was yet to come. This was definitely the start of a new life for him.

Aurora nervously entered the Great Hall which she had heard so much about. The deputy headmaster led the sparse group of new students to stand in a line before the stool on which the Sorting Hat sat. Aurora was one of the first called.

As she approached the tattered and faded hat, she felt like she could have fainted right then and there. She forced herself to put one foot in front of the other, and she reached the stool. She carefully picked up the hat, and set it on her head.

"Ah," the hat whispered in her mind. "I was expecting a few of the Second War's survivor's children. Your father was in Gryffindor, wasn't he? But you don't really have his courage. You're loyal, so you could be a Hufflepuff, but I think that you'd be best suited to RAVENCLAW!"

Chuckling weakly with relief, Aurora tottered over to the table bedecked with blue and bronze. She didn't have to follow in her father's footsteps after all. She had been afraid that she would have to be a Gryffindor because he was, but the hat had known better.

After the Sorting, she looked across the table and met the eyes of the boy sitting there. He looked away, towards Headmaster Gray, but Aurora thought, 'We could be friends,' and her heart filled with hope.

Ambrosius was quietly sitting at one end of the professor's table, wearing an ink-black long robe as usual. A wine glass in his hand, he listened to the deputy headmaster read the names of first year students, and watched as they, one by one, slowly walked towards the menacing stool placed in front of the four house tables. Under the eyes of everyone present in the room, the scared children would then put the old sorting hat on their head, and would eagerly wait for it to announce their House.

Drinking a sip of the red liquid, Ambrosius closely examined the students who where sorted into Ravenclaw, as he had been appointed head of that house a few days earlier by the headmaster. When the ceremony was over, it was time for the feast. Not very hungry, he gazed across the room while some of the students were repeatedly serving themselves one meal after the other. The Great Hall was exactly as he remembered it, even if a long time had passed since he last stepped into it. This castle would now be his home, the first place he could really feel that way about after spending years roaming throughout the world.

The headmaster then emphasized the dangers that were lurking down the road for them, something Ambrosius didn't need to be reminded of. A grim expression on his face, that underlined his pale skin and the shadows beneath his eyes thus making him seem older than he was, he politely applauded at the end of Gray's speech. He then stood up and slowly headed towards the entrance of the Great Hall. "First-year Ravenclaws, please follow me."

Tarik was siting at his place in the middle right side of the professors table and looked at the students as their aligned themselves in the line for sorting. He was determined to watch closely the sorting since he will be teaching these students. He watched as George Juarez called the names and as they approached and took up the sorting hat. He was scared when he first came to Hogwarts, so scared that he even thought to ask professor McGonagall to leave him for last when no one was watching. But he muscled up and took the sorting hat and sorted in to Griffindor. He was sad when he realized that he cannot be Gryffindor head of house but he will get over it.

As he thought of his first time in Hogwarts the sorting finished and al students were now sitting at their tables waiting for dinner. He hoped that Headmaster will get his speech after the feast since Tarik was so hungry that he could eat the whole feast for himself. He was right and delicious meals appeared a moment after. Tarik moved his attention from students to the food and spent most of the next time eating. After he was full and feast was over Headmaster stood up and started his speech. He mentioned the tough times in the past and warned about the future, Tarik was aware that he need to give his best to help Hogwarts succeed but there were some troubled times ahead. When Headmaster mentioned his name Tarik nodded and raised his hand for a second to acknowledge the Headmaster Gray. Soon after the feast was over Tarik stood up and went to bed to his room, it seems that not being head of house is good after all. He did not needed to escort the students to their rooms.

Keith anxiously walked into the Great Hall with all the other students, who were soon to be sorted into one of the four Houses. He already knew where he wanted to be sorted, Gryffindor, like his father. As the students settled in the front of the room, he waited and waited for his name to be called. All he could think about was what House he would be sorted into. He watched as each student, one after another, walked up to have the hat placed onto their head. He heard quite a few Slytherin's, while wondering if he would end up being one of them.

Finally, after what felt like hours, he heard his name. Keith took a deep breath and walked up to have the hat placed onto his head. Immediately after the hat touched him, it began to speak, "Hmm... Yes, I wondered when I would be sorting you.. Just like your father, you are. I remember how nervous he was, while he was being sorted. I see it, it's all in your head.. Bravery, courage, chivalry. I guess we know where to put you," the hat began. "GRYFFINDOR!" It finally shouted. Keith sighed with relief.

Putting a smile on his face, he jumped off the stool and practically ran to the Gryffindor table, noticing the wonderful colours on it. He knew how proud his father would be that he was sorted into Gryffindor, like the hat said, he was just like him so of course it made sense.

After the Sorting Ceremony, the feast began and Keith looked around the table, seeing a few similar faces from the train. He hoped more than anything they would be friends. Soon, the feast was over and Keith and the rest of the Gryffindor's were led to their Dormitories. Keith smiled, knowing he was going to love it there.

The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony   The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony EmptySun Jun 24, 2012 3:12 pm

Kim docked of the small boat that her fellow first-years rode to go to their final destination: the Hogwarts castle. For the first time, she saw the castle where almost all the wizards and witches came from. After discovering what she is capable of doing, she'll finally see what are the opportunities that have been waiting ever since she was born.

She followed the deputy headmaster as he was leading them to a celebration that she had heard about only when she was buying a wand. A mother was explaining to her son some big events that he should look forward to. "Jack, there are four kinds of houses in Hogwarts. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. On your first day in school, you'll get sorted on one of these houses and for the rest of your student's life in Hogwarts, it will be practically your home."

Not having any idea on what kind of houses are there, Kim wasn't that sure on which of them is the best one for her. 'Who will sort us anyway? We are just first-years and this is our first day. No one can know what kind of person we are,' she thought.

Her question was answered, watching as one of the first students sat down on the stool placed at the center and put on a long, pointy hat that can talk. Amazed on what kind of world she had actually entered, Kim watched the crowed as the hat sorted the girl into Ravenclaw. Numerous students did the same thing and were sorted to different houses. Finally, it's her turn as the deputy headmaster called her name. "Ms. Kim Frey." Kim felt nervous as everyone looked at her direction. She proceeded to the instructions: sat on the stool, placed the hat on her head and waited.

"Hmm. Kim Frey, eh? No emotions but nervousness. I see, your a muggle-born. Yes, that's right. No idea on what Hogwarts is, eh? No house that you would like to propose? Interesting. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw are definitely not for you. So, Hufflepuff or Slytherin? Which one is the best? Oh, there it is. Finally, your thoughts came into my view. Aim high, eh? Ambitious? Definitely an ambitious person, trying to sneak into this big world of wizardry. Yes, yes, now I'm pretty sure. Silver and green are the right colors for you. Better be.... Slytherin!" A roar of cheers came from the side of the Great Hall where the long table was surrounded by the colors the sorting hat made mention. Guessing that the table with the same color is the right one, Kim ran towards it, being welcomed by all of the students seated on the long bench.

After some time, the sorting ceremony was over and the dinner was served. Kim was familiar for some of the dishes but the others are just too weird for her to taste. Many seniors are already familiar with everything, grabbing all of the dishes in front of them. 'I'll try them next time, maybe?' she thought to herself, still absorbing all of the things around her.

Eventually, the headmaster told his speech, which didn't come of any understanding to Kim. She was having a hard time trying to get its message but in the end, at least, she had some ideas about the school's history. "First years, please be guided that the Head of House will guide you to your respective dormitories," a senior said. 'Head of House? How would I know which one of them it is?' she whispered to herself. Just after a second, her question was answered. "Slytherin, follow me." A tall, serious-looking guy said, walking past her position.

The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony   The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony EmptySun Jun 24, 2012 3:25 pm

"Sir, the sorting ceremony will begin in any moment. Professors should be there before the first sorting begins."

"I'll be there."

Ashton put everything away on his desk, clearing all the mess he made. Tonight will be his first witnessing of the sorting, where all first-years are eager but nervous about putting a hat on their heads. 'Anyways, it'll be done for just a second.' He calmly went to the Great Hall where his chair is the only one that was unoccupied. He comfortably placed himself on it and waited as the ceremony will begin. 'This suffering will end soon.'

One by one, first years were sorted on their permanent houses. Ashton observed the students who were sorted in Gryffindor, where he stayed for his whole student's life. Next, he turned his attention to Slytherin, the house that the Headmaster trusted him to watch over. Thinking that having a head of house is useless, Ashton agreed on everything that the old man told him and concentrated on how his classes would actually work.

In the end, the headmaster gave a speech while Ashton was approaching the Slytherin's table. Coincidently, as the Gray finished his talk, Ashton was already on the table area, instructing everyone to follow him to their dormitory.

Isabella walked nervously over to the rickety stool where the sorting hat had been placed. She didn't know how to feel. She knew that her family had been in Slytherin for centuries, but she didn't want it to look that she was going to be a dark witch like her grandmother, Bellatrix Lestrange. She timidly sat down on the stool, and she could feel her face turning pink while all the eyes of everyone in the hall turned and looked at her. She heard the sorting hat's voice whispering in her ear.
"Well, well, well. Another Lestrange. I'm guessing that you would like to be in Slytherin like your ancestors?"
"I don't really know yet. I mean, I want to be in Slytherin because my family had been for so long, but I don't want to feel evil, because that's the first take that people normally feel about Slytherin."
"Hmmm. I'm don't know where to sort you then. I see some bravery, yes, but you are hardworking, pretty smart, Well, I'll just have to make the easiest placement. Slytherin!" Isabella walked over to the Slytherin table where she seated herself across from a first-year girl with hazel eyes and long wavy hair. She felt too nervous to talk to anybody yet, but she told herself that she would talk to someone in the common room later. As the headmaster made his annual speech, Isabella looked around at the other students in the hall. The headmaster finished, and a golden plate and goblet appeared in front of her. She spooned food ontoher plate, and after she was finished with that, the food dissapeared, and dessert formed in front of her. She put some cauldron cakes, pudding and pie onto her plate, and then when she finished, she waited for everyone else to cease eating, and then the dessert was gone too. The headmaster stood up and said that they were to follow their prefects to their common rooms for the first time. The scraping of benches was heard as the students stood up and started to walk away. Isabella heard the call of a serious guy called to the Slytherins to follow him.
"Well, I hope that I can make some friends tonight," and then she proceeded to follow her house to the common room.

"First years, follow me." The deputy Headmaster escorted them to the Great Hall, where the sorting ceremony will be held. Rec, as usual, was hiding from the crowd, trying to hide his presence from everyone else.

As soon as he entered, he was surprised that although he knew almost everything about the wizarding world, no description has ever been perfect to describe the Great Hall. Everything was enormously perfect, from the long, four tables in the middle, to the illusion hanging above them.

Rec's attention was caught when the sorting began. "Mr. Rec Relison. Please sit on the stool and place the hat on your head," the deputy headmaster instructed as he walked towards the middle of the Hall. He did what was instructed to him: placed the hat on his head. Then, many thoughts came into his mind. "Ah, yes. A mindful person. Thinking of everything he sees but keeps them to himself. Definitely not Ravenclaw. Eh, you want to be in Slytherin? I don't think so. It suits you to be in....Gryffindor!" The crowd cheered, as Rec went towards the table for his new house.

As usual, meal has been served. Rec took everything he wanted and ate without saying any word, listening to everyone's conversation. Then, at last, the speech was given by the Headmaster, who, for him, was a little too young to be the Head of the school.

The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony   The Oppening Feast - Sorting Ceremony EmptyFri Jun 29, 2012 9:28 pm

Lucy's happiness could not go unnoticed as she reached the Great Hall with her fellow First Years. She looked around and quickly spotted the Slytherin House. Most of them had a frown on their face, the others looked like they were simply too good to be there. She felt ashamed to see that the great House of Slytherin had been reduced to people like that. As First Years stood in front of the Great Hall, ready to be sorted, she found the eyes of a very pale man sitting the end of the professor's table. The man wore a long black robe and a grim expression on his face. Lucy knew, right away, that this man was the Defense Against The Dark Arts professor. Two seconds later, the man turned to a girl who had been placed in the House of Ravenclaw.
A worthy house, she thought.

"Lucy Malfoy!" her name was called and her feet automatically walked over to the stool. Sitting down, the Sorting Hat was placed on her head.
Without thinking, the Sorting Hat announced her House.
Slytherin.

Slytherin students clapped and greeted her kindly, something she would not have expected given from their frowns and careless looks, proving that Slytherins are not what everyone thinks they are. As she sat down she looked across the Great Hall and found a boy in the Gryffindor House. The boy stared back for a few seconds and smiled before turning his attention to the other First Years. She then turned her attention to a girl in the Ravenclaw House. She had long dark hair and seemed to be a very nice girl. Lucy watched the girl look a boy in her house, but when the girl turned to look at the Slytherin House, Lucy smiled, in hopes of making new friends.
