Ana entered the class in an elegant fashion, her high heels clicked lightly on the stone floor as she gazed around the room. Her lesson with the third years would be interesting. She was going to have them turn matchsticks into needles. Ana believed in positive reinforcement; if a student accomplished a spell then that could help them possibly conquer an even tougher spell. At the same time Ana did not support coddling children.

Ana went to her desk in the front of the room and turned to face the rest of the room. With a wave of her wand the matchbox opened and a single match floated to each desk. With her class prepared she smiled it was nice to have some peace and quiet to herself before all the students arrived. As she went to sit at her desk she noticed Isis had entered the room without her notice. "Well hello darling; I didn't expect you to grace us with your presence so soon." Ana said with a sweet smile. The raven cawed and glided over to her outstretched hand. With this she took her seat and Isis stood now on the back of her chair. "Now, we wait."

After running making her way to Transfiguration from the Great Hall, Aoife eventually reached her first Transfiguration lesson. She stopped outside the door to catch her breath; she wanted to make a good impression on their teacher. Then the young girl walked slowly in to the classroom, beaming, as though she was a civilized, mature person. Yeah right. "Hello, Professor..." She trailed off, not sure of the woman's name. She spotted a bird on the back of her chair, maybe a raven? That was SO cool. If she was ever a teacher, she was buying a bird, definitely.

Aoife took a seat in the second row of the classroom, still beaming. It looked like she was the first to arrive, so that was a bit weird. She wasn't the sort of person that was always late but she'd never been really early before, always arriving in good time but not really early. Now all she had to do was wait for everyone else to arrive...

Alyssa pushed open the wooden door to the transfiguration classroom confidently, an unusual smile setting onto her face. She was looking forward to this class more than any of her others - the idea of being able to change something into something else was extraordinary to her. Alyssa dreamed of one day becoming an animagus, and she knew this was the first minute step toward her goal. She had even taken care to arrive considerably early. As she stepped into the classroom, she saw only the professor - a pretty, fair-skinned woman - and a girl sitting in the second row.

As Alyssa made her way toward the front of the classroom, she took note of the magnificent raven that was perched behind the professor. Her eyes lingered on the bird for a few moments before she chose a seat in the same row as the other girl, though a few chairs away from her. She wasn't the type of student to sit in the front row, but she didn't want to sit in the back of this class. She murmured a quick "hello" to the professor as she took her seat, offering her a rare smile. Glancing quickly at the girl's face, Alyssa remembered that she had been sorted into Gryffindor at the opening feast.

She didn't notice the match on her desk for a moment, and when she caught sight of it she picked it up with two fingers, gazing at it in interest. She saw that the other desks bore matches as well. They would be attempting to change them into needles, Alyssa was sure. She had pestered her older brother and sister endlessly about transfiguration class, and they had told her all about what her first year transfiguration class would entail. She set the matchstick back down on her desk and glanced around the classroom impatiently - she was excited to get started!

Ryder entered the transfiguration classroom and was surprised to note that he seemed to be, for once, on time! He grinned slightly at the though before continuing further into the room and taking a seat in the middle of the classroom. He nodded to a Slytherin girl who was in his year and threw a grin to the little Gryffindor before glancing at the teacher.

He raised an eyebrow in surprise at the sight of Professor Dante - he hadn't expected a professor to be so, well... classy. His glanced over her sophisticated features and landed on the large, black bird that was perched on the back of her chair; a raven, to be sure. Reaching down into his bag, Ryder pulled out a spare piece of parchment and began to doodle on it while he waited for class to start.

Dressed up in her best robes, Nadia made her way into the Transfiguration and took her seat. She grinned at Ryder and Alyssa, wasn't it? She was not so sure of their names because even though they were in the same year and house, they never held a conversation.

She looked at Professor Dante in approval of her lady looks. This could be one of her favorite professors here. Especially since Transfiguration was supposed to be an elegant type of magic.

Hunter entered the transfiguration classroom a few minutes late, but he could see that class hadn't begun yet. He smiled apologetically at the teacher and stepped further into the classroom, taking a seat in the same row as a Slytherin boy. After he was seated, he took a better look at the professor - she definitely didn't seem like the type of person you'd want to mess with.

His eyes widened slightly as they acknowledged the Raven behind her - what was it with this place and birds? He had never seen so many birds in his life, and now he was surrounded by hundreds of them every day. He shrugged to himself and opened his Transfiguration book to a random page, skimming it for anything interesting.

As students filed in the room Ana smirked at the amount in her current class. Isis seemed to be particularly interested in them flying from her perch to do a circle around the room. Ana stood gracefully and smile t all the students and then began to walk from behind her desk. Her gown flowing effortlessly behind her and her heels clicking lightly against the floor. Isis then flew back to land on her out stretched hand. "Good evening class. I trust you all are prepared to begin? Transfiguration is among so of the most difficult and beautiful magic you will preform while here at Hogwarts. You need to be precise and have at least half a brain to comprehend the complexity. That being said I would like all of you to please take your books and turn to page three hundred and thirteen." As Ana spoke she waved her wand and the instructions appeared on the board in beautiful calligraphy.

The majestic raven raised it's wings and took flight, drawing Alyssa's attention to it. It was a beautiful bird, and Alyssa envied the professor. She focused again on the professor as the woman stood and smiled around the classroom. She gracefully stepped out from behind her desk, stretching out her arm for the raven to land on. Alyssa smiled as the Professor spoke, describing the art of transfiguration as complex and elegant. Undeterred, Alyssa quickly fished her transfiguration book out of her bag and flipped it open to the instructed page. Her eyes began to skim the text while she waited for Professor Dante to continue.

Grace couldn't take her eyes off the raven. As it flew around the room, it was so mesmerizing. The only thing that pulled her attention back to class was the sound of the professor's heels clicking on the floor. Listening to the professor explain about transfiguration made her even more excited to dive into the class. As the professor made the instructions appear on the board, Grace pulled her book out of her bag and sat in on the desk, opening it to the correct page. She pulled out a piece of parchment and one of her quills, getting ready to take any notes necessary.

David had entered the room just as the Raven was flying around. he smiled at that, then took one of the remaining seats, the one beside Alyssa. he gave her a nod, remembering her from the sorting ceremony. she had been sorted into Slytherin, and he knew of the feud between their two houses, and being Gryffindor's blood, he figured he should hate her, but he couldn't bring himself to do, not quite yet.

he listened to the Professor intently, then pulled out his book and flipped to the desired page.

Ana walked around the room observing her young pupils. She had noticed some of them skirt in just before being late. She smiled and paused beside a young Slytherin girl, as Ana recalled her name was Alyssa McLennen. The girl seemed to be very interested in the class and she could see a light burning in her eyes and she liked it. "Now everyone please begin to read the text on turning song birds into teacups." Ana smiled and then added as an afterthought with her eyes flashing menacingly, "Oh and for those of you who seem to ride in moments before I consider you tardy, a word of advice, don't be late or you will sorely regret it." She presented a sweet smile and then glided to the front of the room and sat waiting. She then thought of a question to ask them, "Now can anyone tell me what they think is the most important thing while practicing this spell?"

Nicolas was running late today to his first Transfiguration lesson. He could not have picked a worse time to enter the class because the teacher had just commented on being late and then asked a question. Nicolas decided not to say anything and just find a place to sit, he sought a place to find refuge among the sea of unfamiliar faces. He finally opted for a desk in a back corner far from most of the other students. Nicolas could sense that he was being watched by the teacher and someone else that he assumed was someone beyond the teacher. As he looked he noticed a raven, that had to be what was watching him. It was odd to think the raven was observing him so closely. As he listened to the question he slowly raised his hand to answer the question.
