| Your Full Name: Lucas Esteban Ramos School where you graduated (Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, ...): Hogwarts Subject you are applying for: Astronomy Why do you want to become a professor? I love passing my knowledge on to the youngsters. Why you have chosen this subject? I used to love Astronomy when I was younger, so it seems reasonable to teach it now. Have you applied for any professions yet? Not yet, no. Will you be able to post 1 to 2 lessons/month minimum? Absolutely. Do you have any previous experience in this field? A bit, only on teaching, but not on the subject. I have done small roleplays in which I’ve taught. Role Playing Example(minimum 350 words ; Describe teaching your first class) The class of about five to eight students gathered around the classroom, chatting and making plans for the weekend. Lucas peeked at the door, waved his wand around, and silver sparks flew past the students and towards the board, splattering against the green surface all the while writing Professor Ramos with rough handwritten-like script. He finally got out from his hiding place, “Welcome.” A wide grin, decorated with pearly white teeth, greeted the students. “You know who I am, so let’s skip the boring introductions and move forward.” Smelling of peppermint, Lucas walked by the startled students and toward the front of the classroom. “Let’s begin with our seasons and constellations!” Waving his wand again, the textbooks stacked on his desk flew towards each of the students. “Write your names of those beauties. If you lose them, I won’t replace them. Then you’ll be forced to repeat my class, borrow someone else’s notes, or cheat during the test! But if you do either of those, or anything else more creative and sneaky, you will be sorry.” He grew serious for a second, but he quickly smiled. “I’m teasing, relax.” “Open the textbook to page ten.” Opening his own copy, he read out loud. “Around 7000 to 10,000 years ago, tribes learned to domesticate animals and cultivate simple crops. The birth of agriculture created a need to keep track of time, making people aware of the cycles of the seasons. True. In order to eat, they had to know when the best time for planting was. Nobody wanted to begin their crops nearing winter only to have them die within days! This brings me to a simple project, which will be your first one, and your homework for the next three classes. Please, open your notebooks, or planners, or whatever it is that you use to keep track of work. Add this in-Astrology Project Due at the beginning of the THIRD class.” The stack of papers on the right of his desk distributed itself among the students. “To make is short, so you won’t have to read it now, you’re basically going out to Astronomy Tower, picking out a constellation of your own, and mapping it out on paper. I will know if you map it from a photograph, so don’t waste your time!” he chuckled. |
