The students entered Classroom 1B quickly, making conversations about who their new teacher was going to be. Peter stood up and with a welcoming voice he said, "Welcome to Transfiguration. I am Professor Seamore. Please turn your copy of A Beginner's Guide To Transfiguration to page 5." Peter saw looks of excitement on some of the children's faces. Peter opened his own copy and read aloud, "Transfiguration is a branch of magic that focuses on the alteration of the form or appearance of an object, via the alteration of the object's molecular structure. Currently, transfiguration is divided into four branches. They are, in ascending order of difficulty: Transformation, Vanishment, Conjuration and Untransfiguration. Now, if I can have your attention, I will give a example of a Transformation Spell. It is called Avifors."
Peter took a needle from his desk, pointed his wand at it and said, "Avifors." An electric blue light shot out of his wand, turning the needle into a bird. "Now, you can try to cast this spell." Peter quickly passed out needles. Peter could see a couple electric blue lights, and birds flying around the classroom. When most of the children had cast the spell, Peter said, "For those who had successfully cast the spell, good job. For those who failed, if first you don't succeed try again. Next, let's try to turn matches into needles. He passed out matches, and after a while, all of the children had needles in front of them.
"Great job! I think all of you are now getting the hang of it. Now, in your notebooks, can you write the spells we used and their incantations? You should bring this back tomorrow. It can be very helpful." He watched as the children left the classroom in an orderly fashion.
