| Morgana left the nine and three quarters station quickly, being picked up by her father. She had missed him a lot, as she hadn't seen him since Christmas. He gave her a hug when she had first seen him, which had made her pretty happy. Mordred rarely presented her with a hug, so she cherished the ones she got.
In the car, there was silence, but it was a familiar silence that Morgana was extremely comfortable in. She couldn't really explain it. But even so, it gave her time to look back on the year that had passed. She had no idea that a place could ever mean so much to her, like Hogwarts now did.
Sure, it was nothing like home. Home in Winchester. But something about Hogwarts was so great and wonderful that she couldn't really place it. Maybe it was simply the magical energy in it that made her feel so at home.
Also, she hadn't expected to get any friends, but there she was, in a car, on her way to Winchester, five friends richer. Then again, she wasn't sure if she'd call it friends. She couldn't compare them to any other friends, seeing as she didn't have one. But the astonishing part about having five more people she could so easily go over and talk to, was that she didn't desire such bonds. She didn't see the point of it.
She felt a good feeling fill her stomach when they entered Winchester, and a few moments later, they were by the House of Gaunt. Morgana smiled and gave a grin to Mordred before jumping out of the car. She pulled her suitcase out of the trunk of the car, but Mordred walked over to her, taking it away from her, rolling it to the house himself.
Morgana laughed a bit at that. Then she remember her two snakes. She grinned widely and ran into the house, dashing up the stairs and into an enchanted room, looking a lot like the amazon. A cobra and a black mamba was what she was looking for. She found the black one first and grinned. "Well, hello there," she said joyously.
The snake hissed a hello back, slithering over to her, climbing up her back. Then the sound of something else slithering made her look around, and a multicolored cobra appeared in front of her. Her grin widened and the snake lay itself in a circle around her and the black mamba. The black snake, called Zar, hissed friendly at her, while the viper one, named Sana, simply lay silently by her side.
She stayed there, just sitting in the comfort of the two snakes, for a while. Her thoughts drifted back to Aylee, Sydney, James, Lucy, Penelope and Ella. Honestly, did she need them? No. Did she want them by her side? Yes. She sighed. Why was this so hard to understand? She was anything but dependent on them, but at the same time, knowing that she could just up and talk to them made her feel a bit safer.
She looked around. Mordred would be downstairs now, trying, but always failing, to make dinner. She should probably go downstairs and help him. But right now, she wondered if maybe she needed his help. If it was so that she didn't find her friends necessary, was it really so that she shouldn't have them? She sighed.
No, not today. Today she wouldn't figure this out, so today she let the idea slip. She rose slowly and looked at the two snakes. "I'll be back later. Anything you want me to bring?" she asked them casually. They both hissed 'food' and 'mouse' and similar suggestions and Morgana laughed. "All right," she said kindly and left the room. | |
