| I think it would be nice to give people some idea about what characters we need and don't need before they write applications. Because it can be a bit annoying when someone creates a character and then learns that we actually don't need this kind of characters on LTM. This one is a good example, for instance: - Example from another site:
Character Bans The types of characters that are no longer allowed
001. Orphaned Characters. 002. Characters with mental illnesses. 003. Characters with disabilities 004. Pregnant characters that have not obtained Admin permission 005. Characters whose pasts include abuse in any form.
Note: On an OOC side of things, if you have too many characters, or have inactive characters, you're far less likely to be accepted than if all your characters are active.
We can have something like this. For example we can say we need Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws (and also French and Norwegian students, when other schools are ready), and we don't need basically the same characters as were listed above. | |

| SO YEAH, I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH THIS. We have too many "special" characters as it is.
But I've been thinking, for the students and houses, what if we included a list of the students by year, and then by house, and indicate which year and house we need most of that way. Like this:
THIRD YEAR
------ -----
------ -----
Phineas Button Jessica Kim
----- -----
SECOND YEAR
----- -----
Derek Lawrence -----
----- -----
Matthew Bennett Ariadne O'Rieley
ETC.
I mean, obviously, there can be more than two students in each house. But in this case, it would let people know that we're looking for Gryffindors, Ravenclaws and Slytherins in third year and Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs in second year, etc. That way, we can keep up with who is in what house and year and be able to see clearly what we need more of when making new characters.
We could also have a list of approved special abilities, such as werewolves, animagus, metamorphagus, along with who has each ability and a certain number of open slots for each to indicate how many we can accept. Just to keep this part even. And special abilities should maybe have to be run by an admin, if they aren't already. Or not permitted for "first characters" or both.
Definitely agree with the particular character bans, too.
GOOD SUGGESTION! | |

| I agree entirely with Evan's suggestion. I think we really do need some sort of restriction on what kind of characters people can make. However, I think that if we went through with Jett's suggestion we would have to take in students of any age. And I don't know how I feel about that | |

| Well, I mean, look at all of the TRANSFERS that we have, Suzzy! If we're going to accept 61684161316891 of them, they might as well end up in houses that don't already have 432649618615 students | |

| Question: So I currently only have 1 character, and I'm working on a second (Ritsu), Karasu is an agendered asexual, and Ritsu is gonna be a male crossdresser. I'm not trying to make these characters "special" in any way. But is that alright? Or do I have to start making cookie-cutter cis, straight people? |

| Keeping statistics can be useful anyway, even if only the amount of firsties is important. We just need to keep it up to date by adding students after the Sorting Ceremony and delete them after graduation, activity checks, and bans (I hope there won't be any, though).
Speaking of transfers and exchange students, I think we better count them as special abilities, and allow players to create ones only when they have several other good and active student characters. Because 61684161316891 is a bit too much, I think.
And I think KP can keep those two characters because he did lots of useful stuff for LTM. And cookie-cutter biographies are the best. Because we mostly have both parents, don't usually move to other countries at the young age, and aren't zombie ninja pirates from outer space anything super special. But each of us has a unique personality nevertheless. | |

| I one hundred percent agree about limiting the transfer students, and only allowing it once you have at least one or two active characters to begin with. Because not only is 61684161316891 too many transfer students, like Evan said , but I feel like making a transfer right away is sort of taking the easy way out, and it doesn't encourage people to develop their characters from a young age and work actively on their development. Special ability characters in general should maybe only be an option for those who have one or two active characters already. | |

| I completely agree, I think it'll make it easier. I also think that students should generally start from first year. We actually do have a list over people with special abilities here, so adding a restricted number should be all right! Anyone who does want characters with special abilities have to write them down here to be approved. And of course, KP, your character can be asexual and crossdresser. As far as this world has gotten, I'd say that's pretty acceptable, but it might be a good idea to keep an overview of this as well, because I've been on a couple of sites where people have turned many of the cannon characters homosexual, even if they got married in the books and had children. I don't personally have a problem with this, but we should probably keep up with the JK Rowling universe as much as possible. But I see no reason as for why your character should not be allowed to be a crossdresser or asexual. We should have a limit on orphans and underage pregnancy, though, because this has really escalated quite a lot, and let's remember that there are rules at Hogwarts as well. This will of course be sent for discussion, and I'm sure it'll all be put in order! | |

| I have an idea with the werewolves etc. You can limit that we can only have one of those types of charries. |

| The list of abilities was updated and contain limits for every ability now. That's good, but I think it can still be improved a bit. Look at it this way: for example someone sees something like "Man-eating Squid, 1/2" and thinks, "Oh, I better create a character while I still can, this vacancy can be 2/2 very soon!" And so, the second Man-eating Squid is created by person who isn't quite interested in squids that much. It's the way how every limited offer works. It's a principal of commerce that makes people buy more and faster. (Or to create more and faster, in this case.)
I think we can do this a little bit subtler, like using text description instead of numbers. This can also give people some ideas about responsibilities. For example: "Closed." "Opened. Contact admins first." "Opened as a part of the main plot. Contact admins first and be ready to take part in plot-related threads." "Opened. Contact admins first. Expect some obligatory details in your character application and job application." | |
